At what speed can you set your cruise and make it hold? On my MM I have set it at 84mph even though it is not suppose to set above 80mph. However on my 2001 I can't set it above about 60 or 65 and have it hold. A friend (SteveW) says that his is the same way but he can bump it you to about 75 mph after he sets it at 60 and bumps it up. I have not tried this but I will. So let me know how your cruise works and at what speeds. Canu you set it at 80 or do you have to set it at a lower speed and bump it up?

I set mine at 70mph gps and on flat hiway it holds dead on, however on slight hills and dales it tends to modulate way to much. it seems as though there may be some slop in the throttle cables that the cruise can't keep up with.

There is an adjustment on the cruise. The manual shows how to adjust it.

Thanks guys. I have an owners manual and a shop manual. I'll check and see what it says.

I can set mine to 75mph on the GPS, and inch it up to 78mph. I think that's close to 90 on the speedo. With the speed limit in West Texas being 80mph, 78 isn't fast enough. I need a SpeedoHealer.

How about a throttle lock? I have one on my Road Star but it will not hold a certain speed unless you are on level ground.
