Brother-in-Law getting close. Going to look at a 02 V-Star 1100 this afternoon. He has already checked it out wants my approval?? Says there is a low speed knock in it. Goes away as soon as you give any gas?? Anything to look for here?

Dan it sounds to me like clutch basket knock nothing to worry about in my opinion the blonde has beendoing that for the last 45K miles so if its a good deal tell him to get it and we will get together and fix it in september.

He bought it. Now I'm supposed to teach him to ride??? It runs great. Only has 9k on it w/ bags, forward controls,boards front &rear, cobra slip=ons ( too noisey) K&N and chrome cover. Oil filter kit to use canister filter w/ chrome cover, fork bag and a few other goodies. Looks like a good one to start on.

Rode it home for him. Got lost. Took me 60 miles to go bout 25. Runs Great. It is a 02 V-Star Classic 1100 with 9k miles on it. Bags, Forward Controls, K&N system. No tach but I didn't hit rev limiter. Didn't really run it hard but it will do 100 mph. Or so I was told by the Warden when we got it home!! Dam Cell phones!!!!

I sure do hate 'getting lost' on the bikes. I'm sure none of us have EVER done such a horrendous thing .

I know I NEVER get lost when I'm on the bike; I make take 'the scenic route' or need to 'test ride' or make a 'slight detour'... etc.

 

Also, it was nice of you to 'take it easy' on that new ride of his
