Gamecock Posted April 3, 2010 Author #26 Posted April 3, 2010 Ben, You don't need me to tell you how lucky you are to be still alive. Do you think the Venture or if you were riding any full dressed touring bike for that matter had an impact (no pun intended) on your survival or at least lessened somewhat the extent of your injuries? Heal fast! Paul I do feel the size of the bike helped tremendously in helping me survive the crash. The pure bulk of the bike absorbed most of the impact and I feel protected me. In my opinion, Yamaha did a great job in the design of the Venture in rider safety. It also helped that I had full protective gear to include gloves, leather jacket, and chaps. I did only have a half helmet, so when I get back on a bike, I am going to have to rethink wearing a full-face. There isn't a scratch on my face, but I know the outcome would be the same with a full-face, and I can't say that with a half helmet. Ben
Zfrebird4 Posted April 3, 2010 #27 Posted April 3, 2010 ... our riding. As I read the most recent posts I felt humbled before your spirits (all of you) in looking for the next bike even before the stitches are out. So few understand this great love we have of bonding with the world as we ride. It is a fulfillment of EVERY minute of living, .... and it's strength bring healing (at 71 don't I know, but not compared to your guys and gals in this accident). It is a healing I chose NEVER to live without, until there is a threshold of peace I WILL HAVE CROSSED, that says quietly, 'This is the time.' For now ... the Spirit says, ... Loud and clear ... NOT YET! And NOT NEVER! Yea go for the gold of this BONDING!~ JackZ
