bongobobny Posted March 30, 2010 #1 Posted March 30, 2010 I have never driven a trike before, and found out it's not as simple as it looks! I need to practice the steering in an empty lot for a couple of hours!! I have to fight the urge to lean, and not to put my feet down! It's a whole different world for sure. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it though. Don't have much choice, do I?!!? Had an absolutely wonderful time yesterday! Met KY Rider for the first time along with B2Dad at Hannigans and we had a wonderful bredakfast together later. B2Dad showed us a local bike shop, Pit Bull (some of you may have heard of the Pit Bull lift) and I bought myself a new leather jacket as my old one is getting just that, OLD! Later we spent the afternoon in Paris! Tenessee that is. Helped out the local economy, Becky loves to shop! Met up fod dinner with B@ Mom and Dad, Mr. & Mrs. Monty, and Midnight for an excellent dinner! It's off to Nashville later this morning for a couple of days then back here, hopefully for a little riding Thursday compliments of KY Rider!!
wes0778 Posted March 30, 2010 #2 Posted March 30, 2010 It's when you get back on the "other" (2-wheeled) bike and forget to put your feet down that you get in trouble... :yikes:
Hummingbird Posted March 30, 2010 #3 Posted March 30, 2010 Triking is a different way of thinking - but it'll be there with a little practice. It took me about 50 or so miles to "get acquainted" with my first trike. Then I had to re-think when I went back to 2 wheels.
Yammer Dan Posted March 30, 2010 #4 Posted March 30, 2010 I've heard its a lot different Bob. Be carefull with it. I've never rode one but I think you will like it with a little practice.
Cougar Posted March 30, 2010 #5 Posted March 30, 2010 So ya got it done? and NO PICTURES? Oh MY.. I thought you knew the rules. I dunno, when I first jumped on the Hannigan. It was so easy to steer and ride for myself. I thought it was much harder to learn my ZTR Mower though. You will grow to love it. Jeff
jonesy Posted March 30, 2010 #6 Posted March 30, 2010 I'm still looking for kickstand, and wonder if I need to put it in park when I park it. Have to remember the extra width, can't sneak thur traffic any more.
Cougar Posted March 30, 2010 #7 Posted March 30, 2010 I am sure by now you have learned to put it into gear when you park OR it will end up in another place when you come out of Walmart ! Just remember that extra Width at the gas pumps.

Damn, Fur a minute there, I figured ya, went into the john, to take a dump, and found there was no toilet paper, and here it was something simple.
Carbon_One Posted March 30, 2010 #9 Posted March 30, 2010 Bob as the guys here say you'll be comfortable on the bike after a bit of practice. Take it slow and easy for a while till you get the feel of the bikes handling. Once you get a few miles under your belt you be riding with the biggest grin. Did you get the fork trees raked. Doing that can make a huge difference in the handling department. Larry
dogman Posted March 31, 2010 #11 Posted March 31, 2010 Congratulations Bob, you must be so excited. I can't wait to see you riding on it.
bongobobny Posted March 31, 2010 Author #13 Posted March 31, 2010 Pictures as soon as it's done, Friday. I wasn't driving my bike...
MikeWa Posted March 31, 2010 #14 Posted March 31, 2010 That is realy a nice trike. mmmmmm Mike I'm still looking for kickstand, and wonder if I need to put it in park when I park it. Have to remember the extra width, can't sneak thur traffic any more.
Monty Posted March 31, 2010 #15 Posted March 31, 2010 I'm gonna try to leave work early tomorrow, and try to meet up with you guys before you get too far down this way. Won't be hard to spot.....one guy on a trike that's weaving around all over the place.
Rocket Posted April 1, 2010 #16 Posted April 1, 2010 I'm gonna try to leave work early tomorrow, and try to meet up with you guys before you get too far down this way. Won't be hard to spot.....one guy on a trike that's weaving around all over the place. No change there, he's like that on 2 wheels too.............
Monty Posted April 2, 2010 #17 Posted April 2, 2010 His trike won't be ready until tomorrow, so he rode Ky Rider's bike. He did ok on that, although being very careful. He is returning it as I type this.
bongobobny Posted April 2, 2010 Author #18 Posted April 2, 2010 Yes I did, and what a WONDERFUL time we had, even if we didn't get Frog's legs!! Made it back to KY Rider's place ok around 9:20. Talk about hospitality!!!! Kudos to Bill!!!!!
