sticking choke on carb

I did a valve adjustment and got it all back together and running but now my choke handle will only pull out about a 1/4 inch, not enough to really work. While the carb was off, all I really did to it was spray it with carb cleaner. I did move the pistons in and out with my finger while spraying it. Did I do something wrong? I can't see anything interferring with it on the outside. Any ideas?

There is a set screw that can come loose or fall out, just below the pull knob for the choke mechenism, it connects the pull knob to the choke rail system.

The various pieces of the choke activating mechanism are all very soft metal, and it is is easy to bend them. Even slight bends will bind up. Try disconnecting the cross-over rod so you can move just one side at a time to try to find out where the problem is.
