installing heat demons on RSV

Good morning everyone! Has anyone installed heat demons on their bike? When I went to install them the factory handlebar weights are in the way. Just checking to see what options I have before drastic measures:think:

Pull out the plastic plug at the tip of the bar weight and you will see a hex head that you can insert a wrench into and unscrew the end weight!

the end weight unscrews from the bar but there is a threaded piece in the bar the the weight screws to. it appears to be glued in, not sure its factory but the weights look just like the pictures on the net of 07s. I assumed because of the picture it was. sounds like they may not be factory. I contacted heat demons but have yet to hear from them.

The threaded insert in the end of the bars is actually spot welded in. There is no way to get it out without grinding the spot weld off and pretty much ruining the bars. I did that when I installed the Flanders bars on my '99. I ground down the spot weld to remove the insert and used it in my flanders bars. Here's a link that shows it pretty well.
