Monty Posted March 24, 2010 #1 Posted March 24, 2010 I just installed my Tailgunners. What do you think of 'em? They spin like a Gatling gun when the bike is running. They ARE loud. Still trying them out to see if we're gonna like 'em. So far, so good. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/IMG_3859.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/IMG_3860.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/IMG_3861.jpg
Freebird Posted March 24, 2010 #3 Posted March 24, 2010 WOW...I'm just not sure...but they are certainly different. I guess I would need to see them in person. Now if there was a TRIGGER for dealing with tailgaters...now that would be cool.
Monty Posted March 24, 2010 Author #5 Posted March 24, 2010 I'll try to get a video tomorrow. I know how to take one with my camera, I just have to figure out how to upload it to youtube, as I have never done it. Shouldn't be too hard. Until then, here are some. These are shorter than mine, though. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icS9yxvI3T4&feature=fvw]YouTube- tailgunner rotary cannon exhaust[/ame]
buddy Posted March 24, 2010 #6 Posted March 24, 2010 MONTY, I get first shot at the RK mufflers you took off....... I want them back please pretty please...LOL OH I cant wait to see how these look on the Roadkiller in person:happy65: Hope you don't give some old person a heart attack when they come up behind and see these monsters shooting at them....LOL
davecb Posted March 24, 2010 #7 Posted March 24, 2010 Uuumm, do the ammo belts go in the saddlebags to blow away the tailgaters???
b2dad Posted March 24, 2010 #8 Posted March 24, 2010 Monty just called and is on his way over to show me his bike with the new tail gunner pipes. I just had this brilliant idea.... I am known as B2DAD, have a B2 bomber painted on the back of my bike...so when we go riding, Monty can follow me and be my....TAIL GUNNER!!!! Whaddya think about that??? Brilliant right????
naturbar Posted March 24, 2010 #9 Posted March 24, 2010 being the litigious society we live in....i would be afraid of the liability......not to mention a picking up a stray piece of wire and beating your bike to shreds. they do look kinda neat tho, just not my cup of tea ...best of luck w/ them.
Monty Posted March 25, 2010 Author #10 Posted March 25, 2010 Here is the vid. Not sure if I'm gonna keep 'em or not. Co-pilot says they are a bit loud back there, and she just loves the sound of the RK pipes. Don, that's ok with me, if I keep 'em. I am going to see if they make a baffle for them to quiet them down a bit. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUMuOzL4El8]YouTube- MVI_3862.AVI[/ame]
YamaDuck Posted March 25, 2010 #11 Posted March 25, 2010 You need to talk to the lead sled owners that rig their exhaust pipes so the shoot flames. You could have fire coming out like it was really firing.
Monty Posted March 25, 2010 Author #13 Posted March 25, 2010 I think these B-52 jet pipes would look good on the b2dad trike. http://www.tailgunnerexhaust.com/jet-pipes-detail08.php?id=8

I am curious...what liability you are referring? Could you expand on that for us?
Guest scarylarry Posted March 25, 2010 #15 Posted March 25, 2010 I can't wait to open the u tube up when I get home, they are different that is for sure.. Bet it will turn a lot of heads..
Lone Eagle Posted March 25, 2010 #16 Posted March 25, 2010 Those are cool - I think Naturbar might be referring to if some idiot stuck their hand on the rotating portion of the pipe and got hurt. I know here in Calif., when those spinner wheels for autos came out, a lot of kids were getting hurt from them and some lawsuits followed. I also really like those B-52's - cool design.
naturbar Posted March 29, 2010 #17 Posted March 29, 2010 I am curious...what liability you are referring? Could you expand on that for us? Lone Eagle pretty much expressed what i was thinking. i know that the exhaust is already hot and that in itself creates some liability. just imagine some lady walking past with a long shirt just as the bike is started.....and her skirt get caught up in the spinning barrels....i guess you can picture the results. seems like our society wants to sue someone for virtually anything/everything, looking for a quick payday....just sayin'.......

That would result in her skirt being ripped right off correct? I don't see the problem!!

Wolf Posted March 30, 2010 #20 Posted March 30, 2010 Ifyou dont keep them, tell me how muvch for them! Gotta have em
Monty Posted March 30, 2010 Author #21 Posted March 30, 2010 I am not keeping them. Too loud for Mama. They are $425 + shipping. New, they are $795. These are slightly used, but still in very good shape.
Monty Posted March 30, 2010 Author #23 Posted March 30, 2010 When I get time to take them off, I'll ask him about a set of RKs for you, Buddy.
flb_78 Posted March 30, 2010 #24 Posted March 30, 2010 Those things look HUGE!! Im already dragging mufflers through the turns. I'd hate to see how early those start dragging.
Monty Posted March 30, 2010 Author #25 Posted March 30, 2010 Got my RKs put back on. aamcotrans, I will let him know that you are interested. Here is a pic. They aren't perfect, but they look good. As you can see, they have some light pitting, but I think you could probably polish it out. I never even noticed the pitting with them sitting under my saddlebags. Let me know for sure if you want them. You asked about mounting. You use the same brackets that you use for the RK pipes. If you don't have any, I think someone here on the site makes them. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/IMG_3882.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/IMG_3881.jpg
