Godlover Posted March 22, 2010 #1 Posted March 22, 2010 A local advertised a 2000 MM Venture with 15000 miles so I called him. It has a trailer, light bar, pipes, and a few other extras. I'm thinking about buying it to resale as I think I could make money on it but thought I'd give someone here a chance at it. It is in Norwalk, Iowa which is about 50 miles from me. If somone buys it I can store it in my garage until they can get to Iowa. He will let the whole works go for $6500! PM me.
Godlover Posted March 22, 2010 Author #3 Posted March 22, 2010 I talked to the guy last night - he had the carbs rebuilt last year, new tires and battery. Has the light bar, tank bra, pipes and luggage rack. He said that it has the chirp. I'm so tempted to buy it and then sell mine. His has a few more accessories and the trailer plus my bike has the same miles as his. I know I could recoup the money selling mine but before I do that I thought I'd let people here know about it. Yes, it will go quickly.

Godlover Posted March 22, 2010 Author #5 Posted March 22, 2010 Congrats Randy on your new bike!! You might have him grease the wheel bearings on the trailer since you will haul it all the way back east! It might pull better if it isn't empty - I don't know much about pulling trailers. If all works well, I might just take a day off and ride part of the day with you - let me know your schedule!
RandyR Posted March 22, 2010 #6 Posted March 22, 2010 Well, I did it.... Thanks for the post Godlover. I have 3 weeks to pick it up. It has a crack in the lower right bag from the trailer coming around tight. Its never been lubed or had the rear gear oil changed.... It does have new tires and fresh engine oil. I have mixed feelings about pulling a trailer, but I've never tryed, so we'll see. I guess I'll have a new ride for Maintenance Day...
LilBeaver Posted March 22, 2010 #7 Posted March 22, 2010 Congrats on the new ride! :clap2::clap2: :thumbsup2: I'm guessing that if you don't like the trailer, it probably wouldn't take long to find a new home for it.
eusa1 Posted March 22, 2010 #8 Posted March 22, 2010 hey randy!! swing through Ilinois after ya make the purchase, i will buy you a cup of mud. i have a home for that trailer, if the price is right?? my information is in my profile. mike
Skid Posted March 22, 2010 #9 Posted March 22, 2010 Congratulations Randy, you got a good price there....
Sheradan Posted March 22, 2010 #10 Posted March 22, 2010 That's an Eagle trailer. I pulled one many miles. Great pulling trailer, but small. With the rails, you can really stack stuff on top. Never had an issue with mine. Sold it because I moved up to a Bushtec.

Mariner Fan Posted March 22, 2010 #12 Posted March 22, 2010 Beautiful bike and with less miles than my '07!
RedRider Posted March 22, 2010 #13 Posted March 22, 2010 Randy, A trailer gets kind of squirley if pulled empty. Stop by a hardware store and pick up a bag of rock salt (60 lbs or so) and it will travel just fine. Congrats on a great buy. RR
FutureVentures Posted March 22, 2010 #14 Posted March 22, 2010 Great bike, great price. Ya gotta love the color scheme of the MM's. So, what number is your "new" ride? Mine is #515. Congrats!
RandyR Posted March 22, 2010 #15 Posted March 22, 2010 Great bike, great price. Ya gotta love the color scheme of the MM's. So, what number is your "new" ride? Mine is #515. Congrats! Not sure yet. I'll find out soon. The current owner said it sat for a couple years, but he had the carbs cleaned last year and it runs ok now. I'll probably throw a can of Seafoam in it on the ride home. And change the rear gear oil before I go anywhere. I'm thinking I can't get to Iowa until April 24th to pick it.... That should let the last of winter's blasts be long gone too. Its snowing here today in Georgia...
Blackjack Posted March 22, 2010 #16 Posted March 22, 2010 Congratulations, Randy! Good for you for jumping quickly on that super-duper deal. If I ever get around to owning a 2nd Gen, that particular model would be the one I would look for! TERRY
Godlover Posted March 22, 2010 Author #17 Posted March 22, 2010 Randy - when I talked to the guy I think he said it was in the 400. Mine is 259. Looking forward to meeting up with you when you get out here to Iowa.

YamaDuck Posted March 23, 2010 #21 Posted March 23, 2010 Oh Randy there is a MM saddlebag on Ebay. It is pretty high but you can afford it with the money your saving on the bike. $499 . Try Pin Wall Cycles I know they have salvaged wo MM they may have a MM saddlebag cheaper.
Godlover Posted March 23, 2010 Author #22 Posted March 23, 2010 The car in the background is a 69 Roadrunner and he wants 18,000 for it....
