b2dad Posted March 21, 2010 #1 Posted March 21, 2010 Well, I finally did it...Don (B2Dad) finally let me drive his trike. He took me out to the wilderness (state park) and let me drive it around the "loops". No trees jumped out in front of me...let me just say that right off! And when I got back after the first one, Don still had a tuft of hair left and a few fingernails LOL!! So around I went again. At one point I actually got it into 3rd gear!! Woo Hoo! Felt the wind in my hair...or would have if I wasn't wearing a helmet and had a windshield. It was a good day folks. We went on a nice ride and had a good time. The first real ride of the season. Mine, that is. Don already did some riding this week (thanks Monty for letting me know!) so I finally gave in today and we BOTH went riding. What's that saying? If you can't beat 'em, join em? I guess his hand survived. He's not hurting much tonite. A few more trips around the park and a written test and I might just get my license...will let you all know when it's time to look out for the hot chick on the trike...LOLOLOL!
Cougar Posted March 21, 2010 #3 Posted March 21, 2010 What did you think if the handling of the Hannigan Trike?
Eck Posted March 21, 2010 #4 Posted March 21, 2010 That's great news Patti.. Hope you get your license soon.. then you can have B2dad wash and wax it after your done riding it...
b2dad Posted March 21, 2010 Author #5 Posted March 21, 2010 Since it's been a few moons since I last rode a bike I have to say it was a bit different and I really didn't go that fast...but then again, it wasn't bad at all. It was sure nice not having to worry about balancing it, especially since I am barely 5' tall. That was always a problem for me. Don says the bike looked way too big for me, but I felt fine on it. I also had to stretch a bit to reach the brake and shifter. They weren't out of reach but not just "right there" if you know what I mean. A taller person certainly wouldn't have a problem. I would highly recommend the hannigan trike kit, but then again, it's the only one I've tried! LOL
b2dad Posted March 21, 2010 Author #6 Posted March 21, 2010 Thanks Eck...sounds like a good idea to me...B2dad washing the bike, cleaning it up, polishing it...etc...
Monty Posted March 21, 2010 #7 Posted March 21, 2010 Any wheelies? lol Good for you! Poor Don, now he's gonna hafta find something else to ride...lol Wish I knew you were gonna be out. We rode all over creation today. Started out in Paris, and rode all over Benton, Houston and Stewart counties today. About 6 hours worth.
YamaDuck Posted March 21, 2010 #8 Posted March 21, 2010 Good for you! Poor Don, now he's gonna hafta find something else to ride...lol It has a back seat doesn't it?:rotfl:
Monty Posted March 21, 2010 #9 Posted March 21, 2010 Angie says for you to drive, and Don can ride on the back until his arm heals fully. When she said that, I said "you" call him and tell him that...she didn't have the guts...lol
YamaDuck Posted March 21, 2010 #10 Posted March 21, 2010 If I can come up for the meet and eat (you will not kick a Georgia Boy out will you) I'll be glad to take him for a ride. I owe him big time anyway since I have a lot of parts off his bike on mine since he triked his.
b2dad Posted March 21, 2010 Author #11 Posted March 21, 2010 Thanks for the offer YamaDuck. Hopefully his hand will be fully healed by then. And we sure hope you can make it to the meet n eat. Sure we welcome Georgia boys...and girls. AND MONTY: sorry, we didn't know we were going to ride until almost lunch time. I couldn't find a helmet to wear. My old ones don't fit any more. Called John at Raymers and he had a couple. As it turned out, they didn't fit either so he is going to order some and will get them in Wed. I stuffed some towels in the top of mine and we rode some. Tell Angie not to be scared of Don...he's really just a big teddy bear!! LOL!!
