frogmaster Posted March 19, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2010 Folks, I will be needing 1" Chrome Clamps to install Larry (Carbon-One) braces for Crash Bars stiffening. Then with the Crash Bars now stiff I would like to add Foot Pegs. The 1" Clamps are pretty standard equipment... Can anyone recommend Good Foot Pegs at JC Whitney? The reason for JC Whitney is Free Shipping over $75.00. Maybe all JC Whitney Foot Pegs are Crap??? Thanks for your trusted advice as always here at VR.Org. irydasteelhorse Posted March 19, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 19, 2010 ive used JC Whitney for YEARS, for everything from mirrors, to windshields, and i have never been let down, not once. shipping is usually fast, gets there before the date they tell you. i would say, pick what ya want, and get it. Squidley Posted March 20, 2010 Share #7 Posted March 20, 2010 Charlie, I have used these pegs from Whitney on all my G2's and I really like them for the price. Kuryakyn makes some nice stuff, but their prices are outrageous. http://www.jcwhitney.com/custom-mount-elliptical-rail-foot-pegs/p2002576.jcwx
atlm Posted March 20, 2010 Share #8 Posted March 20, 2010 Another option for the clamps is eBay. You can get them for $17 delivered for the pair.

Squidley Posted March 20, 2010 Share #12 Posted March 20, 2010 Thanks Squid those were tops on my list too for foot pegs there. Now for the 1" Chrome Clamps to use Carbon-One (Larry's) new Crash Bar reinforcement bars. I think this will be what I want... http://www.jcwhitney.com/chrome-plated-heavy-duty-3-piece-bolt-together-clamp/p2006236.jcwx But It says three piece but only shows 2 pieces!!! What am I missing about these 1" CLAMPS??? TY They are the same clamps that come with those pegs and even though there are 2 pcs shown you will get all 3 to completely go around the bar. 1 thing I want to mention here also is with those clamps be sure and use a flat rubber rubber strip under the clamp and ontop of the bar. This will help with the clamp not slipping, especially on the pegs. I have used the ones that come with the pegs before, but have had issues with them slipping. What might be an option for you is to use the clamps that come with those pegs and use them for the Carbon one braces and buy a set of these... http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/13/121/19210/ITEM/Kuryakyn-Magnum-Quick-Clamps.aspx I have set of these on the '89 with a pair of Markland floorboards and they work great. The boards dont move at all. I want to mention also that I use a Cork/Rubber gasket material on all the clamps I install so they wont slip on the smooth chrome. It can be purchased at any autoparts store
