hillrider Posted March 17, 2010 #1 Posted March 17, 2010 Vacation coming up soon. Has anyone ever made the ride from Apache Junction to Roosevelt Dam (Hwy 88)? How long does it take? Trying to figure out how much water to take. Nope not taking the RSV, renting a couple of dualsports.
Two Tone White Posted March 17, 2010 #2 Posted March 17, 2010 Yes, on the RSV. Won't take you too long - maybe a couple of hours. It's less than 50 miles. About 1/2 of the way there you will go through Tortilla Flat. Stop and have a bowl of chili and a beer or soda, then some of the prickly pear cactus ice cream next door and take your time to see the quaint stagecoach town. About 5 miles or less past the Flat, the road turns from pavement to natural earth, dirt, gravel, etc. Was rideable (slow and easy) for me on the RSV but wish I had my KTM with me at the time. Very scenic. Stop and take lots of pictures. Enjoy.
hillrider Posted March 18, 2010 Author #3 Posted March 18, 2010 Thanks, Two Tone. If it can be done on a RSV, a dual sport will love it.
