I got confermed to be an adult catholic man today!

Sweet!:dancefool:

No more church!!!!:thumbsup2:

Congrats....... But going through the sacrement of confirmation doesn't mean "No more church". It should make your faith stronger in Christ since you received the power of the holy spirit..........or I've been wrong all these years:whistling:

I think?? it means, he did the same as I did, after about 37 years, I resigned.

I did some serious research, into past history, found out a few things about the organization I did not agree with.

I deal with " The Man " more directly now, seems to be working pretty good.

Half of the maternal side of my family is Catholic. They either are or were members of the Church. Both my grandmothers on that side were raised Catholic. First grandmother never went back after she married my grandfather and my step grandmother went back when their daughter married a Catholic and joined the Church.

My aunt was originally married in a civilian ceremony so she had to have a Church wedding. It was kinda interesting since she was several months pregnant at the time. I can still remember the priest who married them talking to my mother about her joining the Church. He classified her as a bastard since her parents were not married in the Church as well as I and my siblings since my parents were married in a Lutheran church and not a Catholic one. I lost all interest in joining the RCC after that!

I left the Lutheran Church after having a "discussion" with my pastor basically over what was more important, my freshman year of high school or learning my catechism. Dummy thought my churchwork was more important. I haven't gone to church on a regular basis since.

Ditto on dealing with "The Man" more directly since.

When I get to heaven, I don't expect to see a Catholic, Baptist, Luthern Muslim, Jehovan Whitness, Morman, New Ager, or anything else than the actual God Almighty, creator of the universe there. There isn't a religion or church in the world that wil get you to heaven. I choose to follow the words of Christ that say "No man gets to the father except thru me!"

Congratulations on your confirmation, Caharley, on your confirmation, and let this be just your first step on your spiritual journey! Don't stop there, as there is sooo much more to learn and experience!!

John 14:6

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me....:2cents:
