How does it handle? Does it turn a tight radius? Is it pig in the parking lot? How high does it rev, or do you need to rev it like the RSTD? Inquiring minds want to know.

Bill, I got the same impression when I test drove the Roadstar and the VStar 1300, I was amazed at the power that engine has........I havent really opened mine up yet, and I dont really feel the need to, I can tell by the way I ride it now and how much throttle it has left that its way quicker than the Roadstar 1700.

Im loving every minute of it.............:bighug:

the low speed handling is unreal.every time i do a parking lot manuever,my wife says you could never do that on the other one.can't seem to leave this bike alone.got to be on it all the time.bought it sept 29th and have almost 800 miles on it,and haven't been out of town yet.high speed cornering is fantastic,no frame flex or wallowing easy to drag floorboards if your not careful.yamaha really did their homework on this one.at 70 mph on the highway it rides like a caddy and has no vibration, wind buffeting from lack of windshield lowers is the only complaint there.i'm in the process of making some polished stainless steel ones.don't have to rev it at all. i think the test i read said it tachs 3400 rpm at 70.

I have a little over 1000 miles on mine, like you the buffetting is pretty bad, but thats the only drawback, with the exception of the pipes, would have loved it to have two instead of one and in matte black with chrome billet ends, that would match up real well with the blacked out engine........other than that.......WOW!!! I still cant get used to dragging the floorboards, it still startles me everytime it happens............how about posting a pic of your cut down windshield.........I really want to do mine........:bighug::bighug: :bighug:

don't have pics yet ,but if you want to cut the windshield it's easy.i did it right on the bike.i measured up 19 inches from the top of the headlight opening, made a pattern out of thin cardboard ,and taped it to the windshield.i used a sabersaw with a new medium fine blade and cut it off then i belt sanded it with a scat cat mini belt sander, and finish sanded it by hand with 220 open coat paper.looks like a factory job.the medium yamaha accessory shield is 19" tall.just the right height for me.may ride it to memphis if i get my lowers on in time. :2133:
