Bwhite Posted March 15, 2010 #1 Posted March 15, 2010 I just ordered a Clearview XXL clear w/vent for '00 RSV. I looked on another post that showed how to remove windshield. Seems pretty straight forward. I was just wondering if its acually as easy as it looks. Thanks, can't wait to get the new shield.
Squidley Posted March 15, 2010 #2 Posted March 15, 2010 The biggest hurtle is removing the lower chrome windshild cover, take your time with that. Other than that, yep, it's not a big deal
Bobby G Posted March 15, 2010 #3 Posted March 15, 2010 Piece of cake to remove. I take my ShowChrome shorty off about every other week when I detail the bike, and it's a 5 minute job. Just be careful of the chrome trim that has to come off first. Once you know how it snaps on and off after the bolt removal, it gets really easy.
LilBeaver Posted March 15, 2010 #4 Posted March 15, 2010 Yup yup - just like the others said. While you are in there - take a look at the very front and center of where the windshield will sit. If you are looking at two holes (or a set of zip ties), go get some bolts to fit in there. There are supposed to be two bolts that hold that metal piece in place and give MUCH more stability to the windshield. You'll see what I mean when you get there. By the way, welcome to the family!!
