Carbon_One Posted March 15, 2010 #1 Posted March 15, 2010 Anyone know of a free pic resizing program for Windows 7? Can those used in XP & Vista be used on Windows 7? Larry

MikeWa Posted March 15, 2010 #4 Posted March 15, 2010 This is a very good one. Works with just about any picture format. http://www.irfanview.com/

dunvilsteev Posted March 20, 2010 #7 Posted March 20, 2010 I find this to work very well for me, and it allows me to have the largest acceptable sized pictures. After opening My Documents and then My Pictures folder I select a picture I want to resize. A word of warning here, you are going to want to save these new smaller pictures into a folder, so I created a folder called Shrunk Pictures in order to hold the resized pictures. I right click on the designated picture, and then highlight Open With and then Microsoft Picture Manager. I then click on the Picture tab at the top, and then on the Resize button. Now highlight the line "Percentage of original width x height" and change the figure from 100% downward until the New Size listed under Size setting summary is 512 x 384 pixels .... just under the 207000 limit. Now under the file tab click on Save As, find the Shrunk Pictures folder and save your new resized pics in there. Hope that helps you, and no extra software required, part of Windows.
flb_78 Posted March 20, 2010 #8 Posted March 20, 2010 easiest tool out there, just "right click" and "resize image" http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/
Guest tx2sturgis Posted March 20, 2010 #9 Posted March 20, 2010 Or...buy a Mac, they do this natively....
