Presently, on my Venture I have both 'frost plugs' drilled out completely in the RK muffs. It's fairly loud when accelerating but quite tolerable when cruising, I'm wondering if anybody has just one 'frost plug' removed and which end did you remove ?

I have a bit that will remove all of the plug and makes a real nice clean hole.

I tried it with just one (from the aft end) drilled out. Wasn't enuf for me... I then drilled out all 3 and really like them now.

Been a while but I just re-read this - where did you find a 3rd plug ?

Where are these "frost plugs" located? I looked on the diagram and could not see any listed.

Diagram???

He's referring to the baffles inside the RK mufflers (I believe). They are nothing more than a round metal "plug" about the size of a Loonie (silver dollar for you US guys LOL) inside the muffler. There is an internal "tube" that runs lengthwise in the muffler and the baffles force the exhaust to the inside of the muffler (so to speak). When you drill out the baffles, the exhaust is almost straight-thru although some still gets muffled. In my RK's, there were 3 of these baffles...one near the inlet, one near the outlet, and one in the middle.

I only had 2 "plugs" on my RK's - one on each end - takes quite a long shaft to reach the middle
