Due to several request to make crash bar braces I've built a limited number of them. Currently there's 6 of them listed in the classifieds but if there's enough demand I'll build more. I built these a bit different than the ones I did in a post 3 years ago. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6069&highlight=crash+supports Simplier and stronger.

Here's a link to my ad -- http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2692

Please note that you'll also have to purchase a set of clamps for the crash bars. There are two types to choose from. These from are the best -- http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/catID/18/scID/121/IMID/531 #1002 or from Dennis Kirk -- http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=494431&store=&catId=&productId=p494431&leafCatId=&mmyId or a 3piece type -- http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=406929&store=&catId=&productId=p406928&leafCatId=&mmyId= or http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=406933&store=&catId=&productId=p406932&leafCatId=&mmyId=

I have found both types being sold at e-bay with decent prices in the past as well.

Larry

Note: The first two pics show the braces and clamps on my bike. The ones I have listed are a bit different at the clamp end but will still do the same job.

I just ordered a set too Larry. I kept meaning to make some but never got around to it so thank you for doing this. I've already paid with PayPal but it didn't mention shipping cost. Let me know if you need more and I'll get it sent.

Price includes shipping. Not having any shipped these yet I won't actually know just how much shipping actually costs. I'm hoping to leave the price as is thou it may go up for future orders or maybe even down a bit. time will tell there.

Thanks to those of you have bought a set so far.

Oh did you downsize those pics Don.? If so thanks there too. I just finished getting a new desktop online so still sorting thru stuff on it.

Good question and one I hadn't mentioned yet. Brain fart!!!You'll need to purchase a set of clamps for 1" crash bars and with a 1/2" hole. I'll post an edited update on my original post after sending this.

Thanks again!

Looking forward to, yet another, quality Carbon_One product. :happy34:

Side question here: In picture #3 in the post, it appears that there is a slight bend in one of the brackets where the other is straight. Is this intentional/real or am I just seeing things?

Nothing wrong with your eyes yet Patrick. :whistling: There is a slight bend in the right side as it looked in the pics. I did that to better clear where it passes over the footrest bracket.

Well folks looks like I'll need to build up a few more of these braces. I sold the 6 listed within about a 3 hr time period. Wow.

Thanks for the response guys.:thumbsup2:

Does this defeat the pupose of having the crash bars. Crash Bars are design to give and come around to protect the engine, with the supports there is no flexiabilty.

No it won't defeat the crash bars purpose as they'll still bend back and fold up the footrests. I speak from experience here, unfortunately .:headache:

What happens without the braces is the crash bar would fold closer to the engine. The braces cause them to fold more in the middle. Even then when I went down the braces still got bent so it's not like they're totally rigid.

These braces will do more good IMO to saving the lowers from flexing when using footrests and cracking them. Also I like have the footrests staying firm rather then moving when I put preassure on them. Like when stretching sometimes.

Larry,

I'd like a set too. Let me know when they are ready.

I have a feeling that you better make a boatload of these puppies. And, if you list them on ebay you may have a full-time job!
