Hey guys I have an 83 venture and i am looking at getting new mufflers for it i have a set from an 86 that are available to me but i want to make sure they will fit? does anyone know? they look the same to me but i want a second opinion.

You will need to modify the mounts. But aside from that, they fit quite nicely.

when you mean modify do u mean cut bend weld etc, or what kinda work am i looking at getting into?

I had cut off the outward portion from the vertical tabs, used longer bolts with lock nuts. The upper part of the mounts are different, from the early ones & you may come up with a different method. But this was my quick & dirty solution to the mounting differences.
