Hummingbird Posted March 11, 2010 #1 Posted March 11, 2010 When I bought my Venture (used, 1 year old) it didn't come with an owners manual. I've been stewing over it since. Well, I finally found an original owners manual on Ebay for $39 delivered. Probably paid too much but I didn't check and don't care, I have one now - I'm sure the guy had more if anybody needs one. Let me know and I'll look up the link
latchkey Posted March 11, 2010 #2 Posted March 11, 2010 this site is a good manual also. i need one and will check ebay out. thanks for post
Hummingbird Posted March 11, 2010 Author #3 Posted March 11, 2010 I knew there was a manual here but I wanted an original hard copy for the bike, here's the link http://www.mcmanual.com look around, I'm sure he has more. The one I got looks brand new.
gibvel Posted March 12, 2010 #4 Posted March 12, 2010 You can download the manual from the Yamaha site for free, then print it out.
Squidley Posted March 12, 2010 #5 Posted March 12, 2010 You can download the manual from the Yamaha site for free, then print it out. Oh yeah...,now you tell him
Flyinfool Posted March 12, 2010 #6 Posted March 12, 2010 It took me almost 3 years to find a manual for my '88. I did get it on eBay for around $40. There are several sights where you can order a new hard copy for the newer stuff. You can call Yamaha and they will direct you to the printer to get a new manual. I don't know about the newer bikes but mine is 168 pages. That is a lot to print out yourself and might eat-up $40 worth of ink and paper. I am in the process of scanning my '88 manual to post up here. It will take a long while yet to finish.
gibvel Posted March 12, 2010 #7 Posted March 12, 2010 Oh yeah...,now you tell him Sounded like it was, pretty much, a done deal from the first post though. There was no chance of saving him so I thought posting that might help someone else who may have been looking for one. Brad, come up here and help me do my Valve Shims!!
Hummingbird Posted March 12, 2010 Author #8 Posted March 12, 2010 You can download the manual from the Yamaha site for free, then print it out. I knew I could do that - however I wanted an original manual - but thanks
gibvel Posted March 12, 2010 #9 Posted March 12, 2010 I knew I could do that - however I wanted an original manual - but thanks Yeah, I figured you might. Some people just like that kind of thing. I'm, the same way. Like I said, my comment was, kind of, for others who weren't aware of that to save them some cash.
Freebird Posted March 12, 2010 #10 Posted March 12, 2010 I'm pretty much the same way. I like having a .pdf copy on the computer but like having the paper manuals and etc. that came with the bike. Just something about having all the original documents.

I know...but I like to bust your chops from time to time Now I'd love to come up there, but I wont have a lot of time off now. You could always plan a trip down here and we could make that valve shim happen
