IH Truck Guy Posted March 10, 2010 #1 Posted March 10, 2010 I didn't see anybody else post about the big rockslide on I-70 west of Denver. The road is closed both ways. They aren't sure how long it will take to clean up and repair the bridge that now has a huge hole in it.
RandyR Posted March 10, 2010 #2 Posted March 10, 2010 A lot of traffic uses that road. It will be a major detour until fixed.
Chaharly Posted March 10, 2010 #3 Posted March 10, 2010 and thats why momma always said leave your mufflers on!
Chaharly Posted March 10, 2010 #4 Posted March 10, 2010 and thats why momma always said leave your mufflers on! Was anyone hurt?
KiteSquid Posted March 10, 2010 #5 Posted March 10, 2010 Was anyone hurt? According to my local newspaper nobody was hurt nor was there any reported vehicle damages.... LUCKY.... I don't know if anyone was hurt with loud pipes.
IH Truck Guy Posted March 10, 2010 Author #6 Posted March 10, 2010 It happened around midnite on Monday.. Nobody hurt....Amazing,nobody hit any of the rocks in the dark. They said the largest rock rock weighed over 66 tons. They are using explosives to bust them up. They are trying to figure out what to do with the unstable rock shelf. It's a 2 hour hike just to get to where it all broke away.
IH Truck Guy Posted March 10, 2010 Author #8 Posted March 10, 2010 WOW! The earths a shaken. You ain't lying.. Combine this one with the one that happened on I-40,two major e-w roads shut down for months...... I would hate to be a truck driver and have to deal with 100's of miles of detours... :bang head::bang head::bang head: :D:D
Danimal Posted March 10, 2010 #9 Posted March 10, 2010 Hey Dan you are a truck driver! And you do have to deal with those things! Silly first gen. riders. lol:witch_brew:

Zfrebird4 Posted March 10, 2010 #11 Posted March 10, 2010 He wasn't there, and is heading for Michigan from Denver. Grateful Dad. His Point: The need to do a major MT removal to keep this from routinely happening, because one day many will be caught and some killed. No doubt they'll do a patch, as this route is a must be open for our national travel. JackZ
