dug050 Posted March 9, 2010 #1 Posted March 9, 2010 Well we finally got some nice weather and I was able to work in my shop and install the gauges on my 1996 Royal Star. I used the 2" Equus gauges because they were the closest match to the speedometer and you can change the colour of the background lighting. Everything working and no leaks so far. Many thanks to Ponch for the water temperature adapter swap. Doug
RandyR Posted March 9, 2010 #5 Posted March 9, 2010 Looks good, all you need to complete the set is a tachometer..
dug050 Posted March 10, 2010 Author #6 Posted March 10, 2010 Thanks for the kind comments, I was pleased with the results. I never liked just having the idiot lights. Equus does not make a 2" tachometer or I would probably have put it in place of the oil pressure gauge. The smallest one they make that matches these gauges is 3 5/8" and I couldn't decide on a place to mount it that I liked the look of, will work on that. I really only need a tach to do tune-up work so it's not essential that it is mounted on the bike, but it sure would look good. Doug
Ponch Posted March 10, 2010 #7 Posted March 10, 2010 A Drag Specialties tach should fit. The plate you have is for the 1 1/2" gauges which are 1.650" dia. holes in the dash plate.
