1BigDog Posted March 9, 2010 #1 Posted March 9, 2010 Last week I posted About poor customer service from JP Cycles concerning an order delay. I cancelled the order last Wed and asked them to return the payment to my PayPal acct. I was told it would take 3-4 days. Checked PayPal acct today and no money was sent. Called JP and was told it takes a while. I asked her when it was processed for return and she got quiet for a minute and said it was processed this AM! So, why did your company sit on my refund all week when it should have been returned right away? It was bad enough to be mislead and delayed on my order. She said that PayPal dont do transactions over the weekend. Told her I used PayPal on weekends all the time and that was a lame excuse. Told them I was finished with them for good. Got into my e-mail and guess what.... there was a confirmation email stating the refund is being processed. It was time stamped at the time I was talking to her. To recap: Delay my parts that was supposed to be in stock then drag their feet on the refund..........One sure way to lose anyones business. They sure lost mine!
dynodon Posted March 9, 2010 #2 Posted March 9, 2010 I can understand your frustration, but have you had other "good" experiences with J&P? I have done business with them and no problems. Sometimes, a business can just have a bad day or two.... or more. I run a very small business, and only have myself to blame if there is a mistake made, and on one poor guys order, I made three in a row! If I had a cat-0-nine tails I would have used it on myself, but I just apologized and finally got it right. I hope the customer comes back. In this case J&P has many employees, and some care more than others, some are better at details than others. Did you try asking to talk to the owner, or manager? Maybe you could cut them some slack? If not, of course it is your right to vote with your bucks and never go back. Recently I had a problem with a Tourmaster heated glove. The company is going the extra mile to make it right so far, and I couldn't be happier. Mistakes or bad items happen, and if the company makes it right, and admits their error, I don't hold it against them. Now if they mess up four or five times in a row like Fed Ex did for me (and they never tried to make it right!), then I also vote with my pocketbook, and don't come back!
1BigDog Posted March 9, 2010 Author #3 Posted March 9, 2010 I understand what your saying. I deal with many internet suppliers and have had mostly good experiences with them. I did an internet order with JP several years ago and had problems with their customer service then. I did purchase stuff from their Daytona store several times. I went back to their internet site and was disappointed once again. I spoke with no less then 3 customer service reps with the same lackluster responses. Sorry, but a business the size of JP serving a very specific market should have better customer service. I was very nice with them on the phone, no cussing or put downs but this last call I stated my position a little more firmly. When would they have decided to refund my money..next year? If I didnt call them this AM it would still be sitting in their account, not mine.
Condor Posted March 9, 2010 #4 Posted March 9, 2010 What get's me, and it's been a few times, is the Paypal payment is almost instanteous, and the refund will take weeks. As a small busines I issue refunds as soon as it's possible on returns, and emediately on a prepay if something happens, or the customer changes his mind. One thing that will happen is that if the payment was made using a credit card, Paypal will send the refund back to the card. It's a PITA having to check the CC statement to make sure the refund shows up.....
1BigDog Posted March 11, 2010 Author #5 Posted March 11, 2010 Woo Hoo....finally got my refund. I just wonder how long they would have sat on it if I hadnt called them on it.
