BIG TOM Posted March 9, 2010 #1 Posted March 9, 2010 Taters and I are on our way to the orthopedic secialist to try to reset her wrist for the third time....please say a short prayer for her...this is our last chance to get it right...the next step is surgery....will keep you informed of her progress.....she has been a good patient thus far ,but I know she has been in a lot of pain since her accident....hope they can set it and cast it today........
kenw Posted March 9, 2010 #2 Posted March 9, 2010 She's in my prayers Tom! I hope things go well and she has a speedy recovery.

Blackjack Posted March 9, 2010 #8 Posted March 9, 2010 Here's hoping for a correct re-set this time around and a full and speedy recovery to go with it... TERRY
1BigDog Posted March 9, 2010 #9 Posted March 9, 2010 Prayers sent for a successful re-set. Now Taters, maybe you should go down to a one scoop DQ cone from a three scoop cone. Less weight on the wrist ya know......
BIG TOM Posted March 10, 2010 Author #12 Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) Well after the 3rd attempt didn't work to reset Taters wrist, Taters was out of options... she now is bionic...Taters underwent surgery this afternoon and had 2 plates installed in her right wrist to keep everything in place...she shattered both bones just above the wrist.....all went well...she is home and in lala land....her arm is completely numb 7 hours after the operation and asked for something to eat...thats a good sign...I filled her perscripton on the way home knowing that she will want those pain pills during the night.....will stay home tomorrow with her to keep an eye on her.....thank you for the prayers as I'm sure someone upstairs was listening.... :amen: Edited March 10, 2010 by BIG TOM

Guest RawHide Posted March 10, 2010 #20 Posted March 10, 2010 Tom and Vicky praying for speedy recovery, do take your time though, don't rush going back to work too soon! UMMMM Tom, there is such things as ready cooked food, take advantage of the variety in stocked!
mini-muffin Posted March 10, 2010 #21 Posted March 10, 2010 Glad she's doing well. They have toaster stuff too Tom, like pop tarts, bagels, and waffles. You'll do fine, plus you can get into the ice cream on your own. Margaret
Yammer Dan Posted March 10, 2010 #22 Posted March 10, 2010 My kids say they are going to sell me for scrap when I die!!! Plates rods and screws work pretty good for the most part. Pain pills come in handy for a while but don't overdo it on them. They can hurt more than they help. Good luck with it Taters. Time for Tom to learn how to cook?
BIG TOM Posted March 10, 2010 Author #23 Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) Actually, I like to cook and do it all the time...I just like to be waited on like the rest of you guys.....no biggie...Taters is the love of my life and I will take care of her until she is fully healed.....but then, I'm back to cracking the whip at her....lol.....yeah, that's it...the whip !!!! I do hate doing laundry though.....yikes.... Edited March 10, 2010 by BIG TOM
BoomerCPO Posted March 10, 2010 #24 Posted March 10, 2010 With metal in both of her wrists I'd be mighty keerful about getting that gal of yers riled up Tom.....Ya might wanna consider putting yer helmet on when ya go getting her riled up. Boomer.....who sez it's tough to wear a brain bucket when ya got 3-4 cartoon knots on yer noggin.
Zfrebird4 Posted March 10, 2010 #25 Posted March 10, 2010 ... for continued recovery, and thanksgiving for your good care with Taters. Don't know the two of you but I am sure I will enjoy meeting you when that day comes! In the mean time, dip the ice cream out for both of you. JackZ PS Keep her away from magnets!
