This is truly a video which should be retained for posterity so that our children, grandchildren, and Great grandchildren can be witness to and appreciate one of the most solemn and meaningful ceremonial gatherings in the annals of world history (the Civil War surrender ceremony notwithstanding) especially in the event that true history ceases to be taught in our schools.

This is an actual film made of the surrender ceremony of the Japanese to MacArthur in Tokyo Bay in September 1945. Actual voice of the General. Never been shown to the general public before. We always saw the "stills" but never the film itself. The quality of the film is outstanding.

hi walter

thanks for posting this. truley a day that will always be remembered. i had thought i had seen some or all of this on the old victory at sea films. but it was great to see it again. i understand that in japan they only teach that there was a war and they did not start it. i could be wrong.

That film gave me the chills and so very proud to be in a FREE COUNTRY!

I thank all the Armed Forces for making freedom a continued reality! We don't know how good we have it.

I specifically was happy to hear a General invoke GOD ALMIGHTY in a prayer for peace!!!

Thanks for such significant posting...
