Motel suggestion - Lake Lure, Chimney Rock?

SC Star Touring chapters is having a Meet&Greet 3/27 in the Greenville area.

I am looking for a one night (Saturday) motel stay for a few friends somewhere around Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Bat Cave NC. (Prefere motel over cabin.)

Bike friendly, reasonable cost,,,, and maybe a bar/grill in close walking distance.

Wish I could help, Mike, but there isn't a lot of motel space in Lake Lure. I am sure you tried the Chamber of Commerce and Google. Chimney Rock has some quaint rooms along the highway or you could try Fairview NC.

As Jim just said, there are some limitations on space, but there are several smaller mom & pop type places and a bigger hotel on the east end. But, to get together as a group, you may be limited as to how many you can accomodate. Again, google the area and you will see what is available and give them a call. Most places I have seen there are definately biker friendly as that is part of their bread and butter, especially in this economy. I would say most places would work with you, especially if you let them know the group you are with.

I started to book the Evening Shade (Bryan reference) but turns out is a far walk back from town, could spill a beer. Ended up googling and found the Carter Lodge more in the middle.

Don't do what I did, I stay in Robinsville N.C. check in the motel and ask where the closest place place to get a beer...

I live 25 miles from Lake Lure so I have never stayed in a hotel'motel there,but there are several in the area.This one is most popular with the motorcycle community.Lake Lure is a must monthly ride for me.Maybe I can meet up with you guys there.Are you talking about the Star riders gathering in Mauldin SC?If so our Star chapter is going to that one.
