SC89Venture Posted March 3, 2010 #1 Posted March 3, 2010 I have another question, can the handlebars be adjusted, I want to raise them a little. Looks like there is an adjustment nut that pinch's the handlebars, can I crack them loose and bring the bars up, say 1/2-1"? Thanks, Don PS Forgive me for a lame question, just want to be sure I can do this.
SaltyDog Posted March 3, 2010 #2 Posted March 3, 2010 Simple answer YES. The individual lower handlebar units can be rotated CW or CCW alittle. There are stamped marks on the bars and center splined mount. The upper round handlebars can be rotated again alittle up or down. Just loosen up the pinch bolt and slide out the bar and reinsert back into desired location. Just be sure to tighten up the fasteners to the correct torque. Look in owners manual or check out downloadable version in the tech section. Also verify that the hoses and throttle cables aren't being stretched or pinched when the front end is at full lock.
davecb Posted March 4, 2010 #3 Posted March 4, 2010 Torqque down the top bolts first, and then the bottom bolts...Twenty pounds it the torque spec....
CrazyHorse Posted March 4, 2010 #4 Posted March 4, 2010 If your brave and have a little mechnical know how change them. I got rid of the bars and put different ones on. I think the stock ones arent that great and uncomfortable for me.
SC89Venture Posted March 5, 2010 Author #5 Posted March 5, 2010 Change the bars, hmmm, not that brave. I did change the grips, but I wish I put on a set of Kurayakns, I put some chromes on from JC Whitney. They are okay, but shoulda woulda coulda. Now where did I put that 5mm extended allen wrench? Thanks guys. Don
