Squeeze Posted March 2, 2010 #3 Posted March 2, 2010 What's with the so called Passing lights ....99% of the time I see them on all the time, ???? They're called Passing Lights because they symbolize the passing of the Traitor's Torch to the next Guy ... :stirthepot:
E-Fishin-C Posted March 2, 2010 Author #4 Posted March 2, 2010 They're called Passing Lights because they symbolize the passing of the Traitor's Torch to the next Guy ... :stirthepot: Thats hitting below the belt.... In fact right in the privates
1BigDog Posted March 2, 2010 #5 Posted March 2, 2010 What's with the so called Passing lights ....99% of the time I see them on all the time, ???? Thats cause your passing 1st gens 99% of the time now....... Look under the left side of the inner fairing and you should see an on off button there as well as a power plug. That button should work your passing lights. Also, if you see them off intermitentely and there is a relay wired in, which there should be, that relay and switch may need replacing. Use a toggle switch rather than the original push button switch.
Squeeze Posted March 2, 2010 #6 Posted March 2, 2010 Thats hitting below the belt.... In fact right in the privates Oh, I'm sorry to hear, hope it's hurts ... On a Sidenote, this says me, at least you didn't loose all of your Mind ...
saddlebum Posted March 2, 2010 #7 Posted March 2, 2010 What's with the so called Passing lights ....99% of the time I see them on all the time, ???? I have absolutly no idea:think:. I would think they are for passing but, really what could you possibly pass now that your on a second gen? Definitly not a 1st gen , you of all people should know that, or at the very least you will have realized it by now.
Iowawegian Posted March 2, 2010 #8 Posted March 2, 2010 What's with the so called Passing lights ....99% of the time I see them on all the time, ???? Keep em on!!!! It's so much easier for oncoming traffic to see you!! Just had the hubby put Venture passing lamps on my Virago and I already know I'll feel safer with them.....that is when our 6 feet of snow melts and I finally get to take her out for a spin!!
Sylvester Posted March 2, 2010 #9 Posted March 2, 2010 Originally the passing lights were hooked to the high beam switch and the switch was thrown when passing. That was told me by my uncle who road Harleys and Indians in the forties and fifties.
Yammer Dan Posted March 2, 2010 #10 Posted March 2, 2010 So you can see the 1st Gens as they Pass you????:clap2:

mraf Posted March 2, 2010 #13 Posted March 2, 2010 Poor, poor misguided Charlie. You know deep down in your heart the truth. But being your riding a Harley look alike you're starting to behave badly. You can't help it we know. How well we know. Keep riding that 2nd gen and just swallow that lump in your throat when passed by the 1st gens. Weather your using the passing lights or not.:rotfl:
