What a Great Summer

Good morning Ventureriders. Haven't posted in awhile so thought I should get aboard. Wow! What a great summer of riding it has been and with fall temps in the 80's in Northern Michigan we are still riding.

Our best ride was riding the western Lake Superior shoreline thru Duluth and all the way to the Canadian border. If you ever get a chance, take this ride "It is Breathtaking"! If you like rugged shoreline, lighthouses and water falls this is the one.

Figured our mileage this summer and came up with around 8K. Not bad for a couple retired ol' farts! My darlin wife rides behind me about 99.9% of the time. Not sure how long we will be able to keep it up but I think I will know when it is time to hang em up.

Our RSV has performed flawlessly. The only problem I have is keepin the lady awake. Ha! Ha!

Ride Safe and you riders who can ride all winter long- - - we eny you.

We wanted to spend a couple of days in northern Mich this year but plans change. Maybe next summer...

In all my years of riding, I have to say that this past "riding season" has, IMO, been one of the worst insofar as weather is concerned. It's been cooler than usual and wetter than usual. This is probably the only summer where "going to hang out at the lake" hasn't even entered my mind. Friday (day before yesterday) was clear and sunny. Generally that's a work day so I normally wouldn't have been able to enjoy it but I was lucky to have scheduled that day off and got out on my scoot for a while. The first time in 2 weeks. Yesterday and today we've had non-stop rain. From the long-range forecast, and the fact that my insurance runs out on the 18th, I'm pretty certain that Friday was my last riding day until next season. I sure hope it's a better one than this past one has been. If I was retired, I'd for sure be living in a warmer, dryer climate.

A Friend of mine lives in Hamburg, Germany. It has been very cold and VERY wet there all Year, except April, which was much warmer than ever.

 

When we talked on the Phone these Days, i said to him, i didn't see Hamburg on the Forecast Maps since Weeks, it's allways hidden behind these grey and wet Clouds. :D

 

He answered that he wants to have the Climate Crisis back .... :rotf::rotf::rotf:

the best year yet for me,after the rains this spring,i have only had two down pores on me,co & mo,all the rest has been showers,thank the lord,and not the weather-man--woman,from the looks of the weather,the riding season is not over yet

Taking my mother to southern KY for some riding this weekend. Can't wait. Weather looks great - low 70s and sunny.
