FROG MAN Posted February 27, 2010 #1 Posted February 27, 2010 Just got done removing 16 inches from the drive about 150 yards to the highway. I'm hoping another 5 gallon of diesel will get me through till Spring. Oh yea when is SPRING COMING? Another snow coming Tuesday.
MidlifeVenture Posted February 27, 2010 #2 Posted February 27, 2010 My son shovels for a landscape company and was out all night:snow2: IM done with this winter:cold:
CaptainJoe Posted February 27, 2010 #3 Posted February 27, 2010 I just finnished plowing about a mile of road here at the park and and 1/4 mile or so at Briarwood. Use to think it was fun as I put a plow on the front of my 4 wheeler and let er rip, but this is getting old! Buying that 2007 RSMV last week didn't help any. I rode it sunday, put 58 miles on her. come on sunshine!
Cougar Posted February 27, 2010 #4 Posted February 27, 2010 Yes I am.. have not plowed now for 5 days *yippy*
Yammer Dan Posted February 27, 2010 #5 Posted February 27, 2010 I figure it will melt sooner or later!! Ain't nowhere I got to be and the shovel got buried last night!!!:snow2:
FROG MAN Posted February 27, 2010 Author #6 Posted February 27, 2010 Thought maybe you was next door roasting hot dogs?
lonestarmedic Posted February 27, 2010 #7 Posted February 27, 2010 Nope, have not started plowing yet! I did clean the moldboard and plowshare. Should be able to break ground anytime. The temp was about 58 F. yesterday as I rode home in the sunshine. JB
Norm Posted February 27, 2010 #9 Posted February 27, 2010 I'm going to break out the BBQ this weekend because here in Eastern Montana we are finally in the double digits ABOVE "0". Might even get above freezing. The roads are thawing a little so now we have the hugh ruts the the little cars get lost in Norm
scotty Posted February 27, 2010 #10 Posted February 27, 2010 Haven't had to plow here as we haven't had any snow in feb. But with the current heat wave we are having, yesterday I saw a puddle of..er..umm..can't remember what you call it, but its liquid ice.
Cougar Posted February 27, 2010 #11 Posted February 27, 2010 My wife thinks I am crazy. I have been barbecuing all winter, one time it was Minus 21 out and I still did it. yummy! Yep, all winter been cooking out-side when I felt like being crazy , getting pretty good at it as well.
Yammer Dan Posted February 27, 2010 #12 Posted February 27, 2010 Haven't had to plow here as we haven't had any snow in feb. But with the current heat wave we are having, yesterday I saw a puddle of..er..umm..can't remember what you call it, but its liquid ice. You guys have had a fantastic winter. Afraid mother Nature is going to remind you of where you live. Hope you get a early Spring!!
mrc Posted February 27, 2010 #13 Posted February 27, 2010 Started shovelling/blowing at 9 am and finished at noon. They say we are in for a break and it’s letting up. The bad news is more tonight. Come on spring http://www.timeanddate.com/counters/fullscreen.html?mode=a&year=2010&month=4&day=1&hour=12&min=0&sec=0&p0=1167

FROG MAN Posted February 27, 2010 Author #16 Posted February 27, 2010 This storm is not over another 6 inches coming tonight. I better go fuel up.
bongobobny Posted February 27, 2010 #17 Posted February 27, 2010 No plow, but just got done snowblowing our driveway. We're on our second can of gas for the year...
Bubber Posted February 27, 2010 #18 Posted February 27, 2010 What are you guys talking about it was nice and warm here in Minnesota, sun was out snow was melting all is good. Heck we haven't had snow for ever! Oh ya that's right we sent it out to our friends on the East coast to enjoy. Spring is sprung The grass is rise We all know where the heck the snow is! Hold on keep holing on.
CaptainJoe Posted February 27, 2010 #19 Posted February 27, 2010 Squeeze, Oh Yeah, good times!. I love to ski also but this is getting old. I moved here from Pennsylvania 14 years ago and the snow we're getting this year reminds me of there. Normally it snows in Sandyville WV one day, then melts the next. Not so, this year. There has been snow on the ground since beginning of January. So, just how do I get my bike over there to do a road trip thru Germany? My decendants are from Essen on my moms side and from Hermsdorf (between Jena and Gera) on my dads side. Hummmmmmm, road trip to Germany... Now that would be cool!

I'm sorry to hear ya'll still suffering from Snow. We're mostly over it for this Winter. Still cold, but, if i would have time, i'd go for a Ride these Days. Still not funny in upper half Germany, like Essen and Gera. Snow and freezing Temperaturs. We had a "real deal" Winter this Year. Maybe like it was 20 Years ago or so. Now, i'm hoping for a adequate Summer, exactly like it was 20 Years ago ... :D But until then, they have to repair the Streets, a LOT, the Roads have taken Damage as if would have been 3 Years of "normal Winter" ... Getting your Bike over here ?? Hmm ... we picked up my Buddy's '09 Max, which he bought in St. Louis, MS and had it sent here by Airfreight. It wasn't cheap, the Crate (custom made wodden Box) alone was 590 US. I think he said all in all, with the Pickup from the Seller, Crating, Transfer to St. Louis Airport, US Customs Due, german Customs Due, storing the Bike in Custom Hold for four extra Days(bad Weather), Fork Lift surcharge and on and on ... all in all, it was more than 3 Grand to Stuttgart Airport. Might be cheaper to buy a Bike here, registrate it on one of your Relatives and sell it later when you're going back.
Hummingbird Posted February 27, 2010 #21 Posted February 27, 2010 BUBBER -- bad things happen to people that tell stories we had sunshine here in NE o HI o too, but it was still snowing ---
Skid Posted February 27, 2010 #22 Posted February 27, 2010 I just finished with my mother's driveway. Luckily the 40+ year old WheelHorse still runs great....
CaptainJoe Posted February 27, 2010 #23 Posted February 27, 2010 Skid, We only got about 4" so I guess I shouldn't complain.
uncledj Posted February 27, 2010 #24 Posted February 27, 2010 The neighbor and I have a kind of system: Whoever gets around to it first does the other guys drive as well. I had a class today, and when I got home, all 700' of drive was already done. YEAH!!!. I don't think I'll worry about going over it again, this stuff's supposed to melt next week. I heard it's supposed to be in the 60s in a week. It'll be a mudball mess around here, but I'll be glad of it. The good stuff's comin'
