Brian D. Posted February 25, 2010 #1 Posted February 25, 2010 Just wondering if any of you use the scal rider q2 headset. I see they just came out with a newer version in February. Wonder if anyone has the unit with mp3 jack and your thoughts if it is worth the price and how does the phone feature work at high speeds. Thanks Brian D.
awsmsrv Posted February 25, 2010 #2 Posted February 25, 2010 My wife & I have them & love them, whether on the same bike or separate bikes. They work up to about 1/3 of a mile, sound is great. When I'm on the phone, no one even knows I'm on the bike. They hear nothing but my voice. You won't regret getting them. That said, there is the new G4 that's due out within the month, I believe. You might want to wait for that, since that can receive stereo bluetooth. Just a thought.
TDunc Posted February 25, 2010 #3 Posted February 25, 2010 Wife and I love ours, make sure you put speakers close to ears... (almost touching) which may mean you have to build out some foam blocks in some helmets. Cell phone is great. I use a blackberry and leave it in my jacket pocket with no problems. Ditto on no one knows you are riding. I do have a problem with the FM radio in mine and I am awaiting a response from them regarding this. (customer service test) I will post if response is less than favorable. I have not used the input yet so I can not comment there.. Planing on using it for 2meter/CB/FRS. oh yes, I about forgot.... I don't seem to run the battery down. I ride, then ride again in a few days then again and then remember to plug it in. TD
awsmsrv Posted February 25, 2010 #4 Posted February 25, 2010 I don't use the built-in FM radio (not stereo, besides). The RSV stereo is fine for me, or use my iPod Nano. As far as the battery goes, I use mine about an hour a day & don't recharge it until the 1st of the month. Mind you, that's usually just on standby, not a lot of phone use or intercom use. Only once has it been depleted before the month was out.
