a1bummer Posted February 24, 2010 #1 Posted February 24, 2010 For those who have the Drag Specialties driver's backrest on their MKI & MKII, do you still have room for the passenger? I put one on my MKI this winter and I sat on the back to see how much room there was for a passenger. It felt kind of tight. And I'm not a real big guy around the middle. A bit more that average, but not a lot. Plus my knees felt like they have to quite a ways apart to get around the supports. Anybody have them on their scoots and are able to have a passenger still ride with it in place? Thanks, Bill
dingy Posted February 24, 2010 #2 Posted February 24, 2010 I don't have the aftermarket backrest that you mentioned, but, Below are pictures of what I did to move my stock 83 backrest. This moved it 2" back. It is very solid. It did fubar the antenna mount. I will have to McGyver something for that yet. I was using an after market short antenna, but reception isn't that great. I had it mounted horizontally under trunk, above tail light. Gary
Snaggletooth Posted February 24, 2010 #3 Posted February 24, 2010 I put a Markland on my '84 last fall and it is tight for the passenger. My daughter is 5'7 and she was uncomfortable with the legs getting around the supports. She don't like it. Guess she better get her own bike. I'm not giving it up. LOL!!!
painterman67 Posted February 24, 2010 #4 Posted February 24, 2010 my back rest says ventureline on the mounts. guessing its original. But anyways, on the back of my backrest is written slo riding only. Or solo only. David
