Iowawegian Posted February 22, 2010 #1 Posted February 22, 2010 front fork deflectors they would want to part with for a reasonable price? We have the brackets, I just need the plexiglass parts. The hubby is going to put them on my Virago.
Cougar Posted February 22, 2010 #2 Posted February 22, 2010 There should be about 85 pairs out there by now , with everybody doing the metal one's now I would think. Just hang tight. you should have a pair coming soon , I would give you mine , but already gave them away. Jeff
painterman67 Posted February 22, 2010 #3 Posted February 22, 2010 can you get me a set of dementions? It might be able to be made. Mine cracked on me a week or so and I used the one that was in good shape to make a new set in clear. All I did was trace a pattern on construction papper and then traced that pattern on to the plexiglass. Then put a plunger drill bit in my dremle tool and ran it on high. Followed the lines and then put the sander barrel attachment on the dremile. Sanded the edges and then drill out the holes for the bolts and installed back on bike. I did mine in clear and left them flat instead of putting a bend in them. But as is my understanding all it takes to bend plexiglass is a heat gun and two ppieces of wood. let me know if you can get a pattern to me and I mught be able to help. David

David I didn't know you had a 2nd gen??
wes0778 Posted February 22, 2010 #5 Posted February 22, 2010 If you have a pattern, a local glass company can probably supply you with the Lexan and you can cut your own, or maybe they can cut them for you. I have a piece of green shaded Lexan you would be welcome to, but I think it is not enough to make a pair.
Tom Posted February 22, 2010 #6 Posted February 22, 2010 Ive got the full set, brackets and all..Very expensive though..It will cost you shipping..Thats it..Im not gonna clean the bugs off of it though,Im lazy this week.PM me if you still want them. Tom
painterman67 Posted February 23, 2010 #7 Posted February 23, 2010 I didn't know you had a 2nd gen?? I dont but they have plexiglass air wings on a first gen just above the air vents and just behind the air intakes. Plexiglass is plexigalss and with a pattern you should be able to make your own. Iowawegian Posted February 23, 2010 Author #8 Posted February 23, 2010 Well........I've decided you can't getter much better than the family on this site!!! Came back to work this morning and had to PM's about the deflectors. Responded to them before I came back to my thread. Tom, Thank you for the offer, and to everyone else with their suggestions!! Ruffy is sending me a set and if they don't fit the Virago, Squid has a set that he's willing to part with. Once again, you don't know how much this family means to me. I wish you were all my next door neighbors cuz you don't know how much it means that people just jump right into help...... Thanks again, Deb
