crockettrider Posted February 21, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 21, 2010 I live in East Texas and will say this....some of the towers out here don't seem to be able to handle the cards well (not sure what term to use). I can achieve much better speed on the card in Houston or even Huntsville than I can here in Crockett or surrounding areas.

crockettrider Posted February 21, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 21, 2010 When I first got my air card I went into town to use it because it was so slow out here. It was still slow in town. They told me the towers weren't equipped to handle the higher speed cards? It has since gotten better but not fast by any means. I stick to my "country" high speed...phone dsl. that sucks as well:fiddle:
frogmaster Posted February 21, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 21, 2010 3G Broadband is 200 kb to 700kb (variable) you can goto http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest and check your "Thru Put". I had one last year and averaged 250kb . I then moved to DSL when price dropped here now I get a Dedicated 1,000kb = 1 MB for $30.00 / Month and no Contract. True I can not hit the road with it but very happy with 1MB and cost now. PS: Dropped the Satellite TV and use http://www.hulu.com and Rabitt Ears for DTV
