elmicko Posted February 21, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2010 OK, I need to find a REALLY good deal on a set headsets for two helmets. The wife thinks it would be a good idea to talk while we're riding. Does anybody know where I can get them cheap? A buddy said he saw some in an ad in Wing World for $69 for two. Of course, he didn't keep the magazine. Help. Mick

Monty Posted February 21, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 21, 2010 Wish the half helmet sets were that price. We need to find a pair at a good price. I've never used intercom before. Will be interesting.

You owe me one. ;0) We use a pair of the full face set and they are awesome. Bit of warning though, the mic is quite large and finding a spot for it in the chin bar can be challenging. Color01 Posted February 21, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 21, 2010 I bought a new Harley Davidson set on ebay for 25 Bucks ..and it says HD on it. it works great ..my only wish is a better quality Bass speaker.
Freebird Posted February 21, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 21, 2010 Anybody who is only looking for intercom capability should be OK with the cheap J&M units. If you are looking for something to listen to music though, I highly recommend the Edsets over anything else I've heard. I've used the top of the line J&Ms, the AirRiders and the cheaper J&Ms and none of them are as good as the Edsets in my opinion.

ediddy Posted February 21, 2010 Share #12 Posted February 21, 2010 Edsets makes an adapter that will allow you to plug in a set of earplugs into your intercom system. The quality of sound is better and you can use them with half helmets.

ediddy Posted February 21, 2010 Share #14 Posted February 21, 2010 I forget to mention this. With earplugs you can use them with different helmets. I use them with my half helmet in the summer and also with my 3/4 helmet in the winter.

aspen60 Posted February 21, 2010 Share #20 Posted February 21, 2010 For what it's worth Edsets have one for a shorty. I bought Edsets for my new helmet last year, liked the thin pieces for the ears, but what I am finding and is irrating is this: They work great for the Intercom and the radio (FM AM), but with ZUMO 550 sounds, espcially XM and directions, have to crank the volume up to max. I did not have to do this with the J&Ms, the cheap set $69 set. But the sound quality with Intercom and AM/FM radio for the EDsets are definitly better. Just wish the EDSets worked better with the Zumo device.
