just got back from a great ride on my new v-star 1300.(long way to walmart for oil).lol. just me the bike and the wind.what a great ride it was.got back did first oil and filter change.this is one fine bike. yamaha did well.trying to pick it apart. so far the only two things i have to complain about is lowspeed transmission noise, and wind buffeting due to not having lowers on the windshield.it is the smoothest bike i have ever rode and has zero vibration at any speed,(rare for a v-twin).got 44mpg on first tank and 55 mpg on the second tank.i am making polished stainless lowers and have cut 4" off the windshield so i can now look over it.it has plenty of room and is a good size bike, yet light weight and very agile.thanks to dragon rider for influencing my final decision to buy it.the chroming has begun. :2133:

I saw one of the 1300's at Marcarls BBQ this year and it looks to be a pretty nice bike. Folks that rode it said it has a good amount of power and were pretty pleased with it. Glad you got to spin her at night, I always love riding when it clear out and a good moon in the sky :happy34:

hey brad you 'll never guess what finally swayed me. la pryor and i were at this pancake house in eureka springs and there was a guy and his wife on a 1300. talked like a newby.anyway he was pulling out on the highway ,two up on a hill making a 90 degree turn with both feet up in traffic.i thought if he lives through this it will be a miracle.did it like it was nothing.i would have been laying in the street on my rstd.hope you folks can make it to eureka springs next year.bill

I might take one for a ride one of these days, but I really have my heart set on an ST 1100 for the driver back and forth to work. I want to keep the miles on the RSV for "Touring" and not kill it 100 miles a day back and forth to work

Dont know about ES next year, we have plans for a 2 week run in the early spring and then a week in Ontario. It might be kinda thin by that point :whistling:....but if I win that damn lottery :confused24:

I am glad you found your bike to your likeing as I did, Let me know how it goes with the lowers you are making, I'm still a little reluctant to cut down the shield, but I know I will get around to it. Hope you make it to Memphis for the St Jude ride, I will likely ride the Venture because of the distance involved and having the Radio and the CB on it. Cant wait to make that ride.

One caught my eye at the local dealer :thumbsup2: did they have any problems lke on the 1100? you know having to remove the front head pipe to change the oil filter? I wonder if the twisted starter problem was fixed
