I remember the crash very well as a teenager; his corvette wiped out on the big highway through town a couple of miles from our family home.

Yes, it was a horrific accident, the Pantera was literally split into 2 pieces. Rumor has it that he was trying to make it from Buffalo to Toronto in 45 minutes or less. I saw the Pantera once parked next door from my mother's house.

 

It was a terible loss to the Hockey world...
