6pak Posted October 5, 2007 #1 Posted October 5, 2007 Ok, I found the idea for a tool to hold the damper rod in the forks . Simple enough, makes me wonder why I didnt think of it. Anyhow, can anybody tell me if a 15/16" bolthead will fit the damper rod on my 89VR? If not what size is it? Black Owl said he thinks it is a 17mm, but here in east Tn, the boys at home depot don't speak in mm. Just the same Black Owl, thanks for the input.
CrazyHorse Posted October 6, 2007 #2 Posted October 6, 2007 I could never find a 15/32. I have tool I made but take me awhile to access it I not sure what the size was.

Just the same Black Owl, thanks for the input. first you have to explain , to us , "do it your selfers", where exactly the damper rod adjustment is. if it is the allen head insert, at the very top of the forks, it is a 17 .m.m. an 11/16 sae bolt head is just a very little bit too large. 21/32, bolt head will fit .good luck finding one, if i am referring to the correct insert. just jt
