Beau-Kat Posted February 13, 2010 #1 Posted February 13, 2010 You can just call me Grandpa now! My son, Jantzen, who is in the Air Force and based in New Mexico, is currently serving in Afghanistan. His wife is also in the Air Force and still in New Mexico. They had a son (my first grandchild) yesterday.
Bummer Posted February 13, 2010 #2 Posted February 13, 2010 Congratulations, one and all! Remember, grandpa, we don't spoil 'em, we make sure they're well loved. It's in the job description.
mini-muffin Posted February 13, 2010 #4 Posted February 13, 2010 Congrat's grandpa. Hope your daughter in law is doing well. How much longer will your son be over in Afghanistan? Hopefully not too much longer, would be nice if he could get home to see his new son soon. Just remind him he needs to be really really careful over there. Margaret
Beau-Kat Posted February 13, 2010 Author #5 Posted February 13, 2010 I'm waiting on updates on how Amber is doing. Jantzen is expected home sometime next month. But...we never know. Thanks in advance for your concerns and especially your prayers.
Yama Mama Posted February 14, 2010 #8 Posted February 14, 2010 What wonderful news! Congratulations to you and you family. Yama Mama
Guest Ken8143 Posted February 14, 2010 #9 Posted February 14, 2010 Howdy, grandpa! My brother will be grandpa for the first time later on this year. I ask him what he will be called: grandpa, pop-pop, grandfather, paw-paw... He said it didn't matter as long as he gets called!
mraf Posted February 14, 2010 #11 Posted February 14, 2010 Congrats! Now the true meaning of Grandpa is "Second Chance". Enjoy. Feed'em full of candy and send them home! :rotfl: Thank your boy for his service from me will you. Sending a prayer for his safe return to spoil that new son of his.
b2dad Posted February 14, 2010 #12 Posted February 14, 2010 Congrats to you!!! It's a wonderful day to become a grampa. We too became GREAT grandparents today, for the 2nd time. Just love these kids...AND our youngest son is leaving for Afghanistan next month. He is in the Air Force and will be flying reconnaissance. We will keep your family in our prayers as we do all our soldiers here and there. We are so proud of them. B2Mom & B2Dad (Pat and Don)
