Condor Posted February 13, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2010 Just got thru watching a recording of the Olympic Opening from last night. Lasted too late for this old guy. Anyway I was blown away by the production... The only thing I missed was the lightening of the torch. Did anyone here stay up to see if they got the glitch fixed? My recording chopped off the end due to the time over run. What ever happened, great job CANADA....:thumbsup2:
Black Owl Posted February 13, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 13, 2010 Would have been a lot better if they had done away with all the frogtalk.

Gamecock Posted February 13, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 13, 2010 They did get the torch fixed, it took about 3 minutes to get it rolling right. I thought the graphics on the stand were awesome. The whales swimming was really cool. Great job CANADA!! Ben

SilvrT Posted February 13, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 13, 2010 Wayne Gretsky was the person who lit the cauldron! Nina & I watched the whole thing on TV and thought it was absolutely amazing! One of the greatest parts of it all was that the 1st nations were a big part of it. Awesome job...make me proud to be a Canuck! :thumbsup2:

KarlS Posted February 13, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 13, 2010 Watched it all last night. OUTSTANDING!!!!! Was amazing all the things they did in the stadium. Cool how they had the Great One take the torch threw the streets to the middle of Vancouver to light the outside cauldron. Canada.
Guest Swifty Posted February 13, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 13, 2010 They had 3 guys practicing to do the snowboard jump into the stadium, not easy. One of them broke ribs and collar bone practicing.
BigBoyinMS Posted February 14, 2010 Share #10 Posted February 14, 2010 The ice breaking up and the whales was way cool. I think they said it took 38 projectors synced by computer to do all of the effects.

MamaMo Posted February 15, 2010 Share #13 Posted February 15, 2010 Watched all of it. And no the one leg did not come up like it should have for the Torch Lighting. But it still worked with just three. CANADA did a great job. Really enjoyed it and was amazed. I agree the Ice and the whales was great.
