Don't work as in "doesn't turn on", or "doesn't tune properly"? I believe there is a thread in the tech tips section that tells you how to fix the pushbutton switches on the radio. If it doesn't turn on, check your fuses, get a meter and check 12VDC into the radio. From there, well, help me out here, guys...

With all the research I did when I redrew the schematics, I never did find a pin out diagram for the radios.

The closest I have is a parts breakdown of a 1983 era radio system. It's 48 pages long. In English and French.

It list part #'s for every piece in the radio system, but no schematics.

You have about as much chance of that as the Saints do of winning the Super Bowl.

OK, I will scan it for you, I'll let you know when I get it done.

I may have to email it to you or something like that.

Freebird is a little touchy about posting the copyrighted stuff here.

I hope I am not getting off topic here, but I have several complete radio systems, and a few I am willing to part out, if this would help you get your radio working again.

What year is your bike?? If it's a MkII, there is a filter mounted to the front side of the compartment the radio is in. I seem to remember there are 5 wires on the filter. The black is ground. One wire is battery in, another battery out (used for memory--should be 'hot' all the time) and for the last 2, one is power input to the filter, the last is output from the filter. These should be 'hot' when the key is in ACC or ON. You can measure here if you want to verify that the radio is getting power.

If your bike is a Mk I, unplug the connector on the bottom of the cassette deck. One of the pins next to the notch are 12V. One post on the site has it listed as pin 1, but my notes from when I installed my IPOD show it as pin 6. It'll be easy to see if one of the pins next to the notch are hot though (key on ACC or ON).

Thanks frank. Today I took my Kenwood G707 into the shop to get the board battery changed and returned for mures setup (I know its on the Grey dark side ) I'm going to install it in the bike for my trip down south, and I think the 5 watts that it has available to run the murs I also have mars and satellite enabled. thank for schematic info but the radio 1983 is fried! , so I need that other system to install thanks Mike VE3CEH..20 mtr
