KarlS Posted February 10, 2010 #1 Posted February 10, 2010 Went to surgeon today to get the staples taken out of my back. Have to ware the back brace for 11 more weeks then go back in for x-rays to see if everything Ok. Then start physical therapy if all is fused properly. No quick fix.
Dano Posted February 10, 2010 #2 Posted February 10, 2010 I know it's gonna be tough Karl, but when you get through this you'll feel so much better it'll all be worth it! Hang in there buddy, the days will start to fly by! BTW, what did he say about riding?!
Yammer Dan Posted February 10, 2010 #3 Posted February 10, 2010 Cold weather should be about over then??:snow2: Might work out pretty good!!
Sweetnothing Posted February 10, 2010 #4 Posted February 10, 2010 Karl, You will do ok!! There isn't much else you can do right now with all the cold and snow, so just relax, and take it easy! And do what the doctor tells you to do, and no more! Just think, you will be about ready to go for a ride about then! If you want to talk the phone is on!
RandyR Posted February 10, 2010 #5 Posted February 10, 2010 Hang in there Karl. You'll be on the road again in no time...
mini-muffin Posted February 10, 2010 #6 Posted February 10, 2010 Well that's great news. Now to get through the next weeks. See what being a good boy does for ya. Then you'll be out there riding again and no discomfort to boot. Margaret
DragonRider Posted February 10, 2010 #7 Posted February 10, 2010 Karl, what kind of surgery did you have on your back.........my wife just had scolisos surgery, decompression, and 3 discs fused, and she doesnt have to wear a brace or corset. She had 2 rods and 10 screws in her spine now along with cages to add fusion.
Monty Posted February 10, 2010 #8 Posted February 10, 2010 Just be glad you had the surgery when you did, so that you may be ready when warm weather comes. Here's hoping for a fast recovery.
KarlS Posted February 11, 2010 Author #9 Posted February 11, 2010 Karl, what kind of surgery did you have on your back.........my wife just had scolisos surgery, decompression, and 3 discs fused, and she doesnt have to wear a brace or corset. She had 2 rods and 10 screws in her spine now along with cages to add fusion. Second back surgery. Had to remove old rods and screws and go up 2 more discs. Have plates between discs, 2 bars screwed in and fusion. Now from L1 to L5. Had to straighten spine also cause of scolisos. I have degenerative bone disease in my spine and it keeps eating away at the discs. Surprised no brace? I don't have the cages but have to wear the brace to keep from twisting and compressing until the fusion has time to heal.
