Hey everybody....

I'm going for that "V8 rumble sound" for my 04 RSV and not leaning to the 4-2-4 slip ons. (Very cool sound though)

I could use some current feedback (some of the posts are a little outdated) I need to let my Harley/custom buddies know when I pass them not sound like a "sewing

machine"...LOL

I'm getting torn between:

Baron Bag Slash Pipes cool sound sample (Mounts were altered to raise the pipes closer to the bags for improved ground clearance, incase I ever lowered I'm 5'6)

KHROME WERKS Slip-on’s (some posts complained about tips flaking?)

Bub Sleeper (does anybody know if black tips can work on these? I've seen them on other non-metric bikes and look sharp)

LA Choppers OVAL BAG SLASH PIPES I've seen no response on these yet. Nice look and black tips are sharp.

The costs are close enough for me to consider any of them.

Baron's has 3 of these models http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/category/20/index.html

Thanks...

If ya want some noise look into the Sampson fishtails, they look great on these bikes and definetly get you noticed. The chrome finish is beautiful. Craig

I have the bag slash. These were on it when I bought it and seemed a little too loud. I ordered the baffles and some fiberglass to pack them. Now I am happy as a pig in slop.

When sitting or crusing---NICE Rumble ---When I get on it...They get loud. Nice way to get that cages attention, rev the motor.

I also have the HD's in the slash cut, drilled (6) 1/4 inch holes in the front plate and 6 in the back plate.....basically made a screen of of them...night stick will only go in about 6 inches or so....baffles still in ....but, sounds really nice....just a nice rumble till you get on it....yet not intrusive on the long rides....:fnd_(16):

I have Barons slash cuts on mine. Ordered packing for the baffles. I like them, I just ordered a set of universal fit fishtails for something different. I have to figure out a mounting system though. Dont want to use a "P" bracket. They werent too costly so it will be a fun experiment. But in no way am I going to get rid of the Barons.

Isn't it great to share so many "subjective" thoughts on exhaust sound? We're really ramping up for spring again for sure and I know I can't wait to listen to "dem" HD's I moded! Matter of fact, I stopped by my storage site today, in the midst of a lotta snow, backed the scoot out a bit,,,hit the sw....and,,,,,,,,,,TA_DA_!!!!! SOUND and SMELL,,,took all I had to NOT run up and down the driveway! ( Woudda iff'in I had KNOBBIES!!!!)

Renne,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(wait'n for "That Sound,,,,,"OH That SOUND"!!!):nanner:

Could never guess what you do/did for a living. Always measuring something by how deep a nightstick will go.:whistling:

you can go to youtube.com and search for venture, royal star, or tazmocycle and hear several sets of differant mufflers on there. tazmocycle is mine with bubs exhaust header pipes and sampson fishtails.

I run with the HD pipes and i just love the sound of them, and for the price ( I got mine from the Hd stealer for 15 with the clamps) and i cut off and reused the heat sheild from the stocks pipes and BOOM couple brackets and 20 bucks and it sounds great. I just cant see the extra hundreds for the after market ones, lots of other safety chrome I can get for the money!! just my 2 cents lol:guitarist 2:

I have the Khrome Werks Slip-ons and just love the sound, and the more you ride the deeper the rumble get. Have had mine on for 2 riding seasons now and have no tip flaking :snow:

Try looking at Roadhouse exhaust...I have used them on my 1100 and my venture and they tell me it sounds like a V8 rumble and it is also louder than my buddys HD...and the price is great too!

To get a ture "V8 rumble sound" for your 04 RSV I would recommend that you remove the gas cap, ride the RSV from under it, ride a Boss Hoss under it and put it on the Boss Hoss.

That is the only way I know of getting a true V8 rumble sound.

Hey guys where are you getting the HD pipes for $50.00? I have emailed my local HD dealers and they do not have any take offs. I have looked on CraigsList and nothing locally. Any other suggestions?

I have a set of brand new HD pipes you can have for $50 plus shipping, will throw in a pair of HD SS clamps. Clamps are used. Let me know if you are interested, hopefully you can find some locally and save the shipping.:080402gudl_prv: Craig
