TheKid Posted February 9, 2010 Author #2 Posted February 9, 2010 I am really looking for someone near Charlotte that might have the time to help me tune up my bike. I have it running and it is def able to be ridden it just seems to me that it needs to be tuned up. I def need the cards adjusted and lined up. I have replaced all the spark plugs and all have good blue spark. I have also cleaned the carbs with carb cleaning soaking the bowls and turning it over several times with choke out, in, full n half throttle. I just think that adjusting the carbs will help the bike run better. If there is anyone near and that might have the time for be to come to you and help with this proses please let me know. I am def willing to ride. Thanks Robert
TDunc Posted February 10, 2010 #3 Posted February 10, 2010 We may just have to buy the stuff and do it ourselves... I have not bought the gauges yet as they are a little lower on my list of wants. If you find someone, let me know, I would love to go watch. Then, when I buy my set, I will be able to help others.
Pecker Posted February 10, 2010 #4 Posted February 10, 2010 You might want to send Sleeperhawk a PM. He has a couple of Carb Tunes and is usually willing to help a brother out. He lives in Coumbia, Sc which is only about an hour and a half away. We could probably set up a small meet, eat, and maintenance day when the weather turns for the better. I'll be willing to jump in and get them things tuned up. I can give him a call if you don't feel comfortable asking him. Maybe if we can get Sleeperhawk to synch up your carbs, his wife, the Mechanic will bake a couple of pies! She bakes an awesome pie, whatever flavor it is. Let me know if I can help. Dave
Sleeperhawk Posted February 10, 2010 #5 Posted February 10, 2010 Just come on down, we can do the carb tune and any other small maintenance stuff. We are home this weekend and next weekend for sure. Just let us know. By the way, any particular type of pie you like, Mechanic may just have one available.
RandyR Posted February 10, 2010 #6 Posted February 10, 2010 Or wait for the April 10th maintenance day in north Georgia at Steve Wagner's place. see the thread by Blackjack
