DonB Posted October 5, 2007 #1 Posted October 5, 2007 Hello all Well I've been working on making a bench tester for the 1st Gen TCI's and I could use the cables/plugs that go to the TCI. Has anyone parted out a 1st Gen bike where I could get these cables? It would simplify hooking up a TCI if I had these. DonB I can be reached at donb@mnsi.net TIA
GeorgeS Posted October 5, 2007 #2 Posted October 5, 2007 Watch e-bay for a wireing harness for 1st gen. I got one about 3 years ago, and it comes in handy for extra parts, plugs, etc etc. Also you can use for finding position of plugs, and wire routeing. etc. it really comes in handy. I think I paid about $20 for it.
muffinman Posted October 5, 2007 #3 Posted October 5, 2007 FreeBird gave me a harness and I have been using it for things like this so.Send me a pic of the tci sockets and I will look at the harness I have and see if they are there if so I will cut them out and send them to you. Jeff

Saddle_Bag Posted October 8, 2007 #6 Posted October 8, 2007 Hey DonB, Will the cowl cover go on over the TCI mounted where you have it???? My 84 , the air cleaner taps against the cover now. ??? Saddle_Bag
DonB Posted October 8, 2007 Author #7 Posted October 8, 2007 Jeff Yes those are the plugs I need. My address is: Donald Brechun 850 Lynn St. Windsor, ON Canada N9G 1G8 ============================ The cowl wouldn't fit correctly the way I had it bolted down so I cut off the mounting lugs, put some velcro on the underside (smooth side)and pushed the TCI as far forward toward the batter as it would go and it fit OK.
