Color01 Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 A friend of mine in the Netherlands owns a 99 venture …over there the front turn signals don’t Lit up like ours do …how can he change that ..So he can use them also as driving lights.
Bummer Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Well, if you mean driving lights as in illumination he can start here. Look at the Moon Shinez. Wiring may be a bit of a challenge (or not, haven't thought about it yet) but that seems like a start.

I am not quite sure how you could get them to light continuously, and then flash when the turn signals are activated. If something like this were available in dual circuit, then the wiring could be accomplished with a little McGyvering. Gary
Bummer Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 So the real trick is to find a wiring diagram for the Euro version to see how the circuits differ from the US model? I've never even heard of anyone having a Euro (non-US) wiring diagram. Speaking of McGuyver: Could you wire them direct, with NO relay triggered by key-on, then use a NC relay triggered to open by the turn signals? Driving lights come on when the bike is started, then flash when the turn signals operate.
JerryT Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 If they are a single element bulb only, couldn't you change to led with a rbt controller like we use on the rear turns? Not sure where you would wire in, but seems like it might work.

One might be able to connect a relay coil to this flasher. Then run the energy to these lights through the back contacts of the new relay. It would be relatively easy though with a two circuit filament bulb. That though would require the change over of the base contact in the flasher housing to a dual circuit. Gary
Bummer Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I don't know of any "standard" bulbs that would fit in the turn signal housings and do what's needed. (Assuming he means driving and not running lights.) I guess I should have said two NC relays, one for each side, each opened by that side's normal turn signal wiring. They'd be on all the time as driving lights unless a turn signal was activated. When used as a turn signal the activated side's light would go off each time that part of the turn signal circuit lit. Kind of an un-flash. Still, it'd be a flash. I think.
Ponch Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I basically did the same thing with my rear lights. I just added a run and stop circuit to the fixture and added dogeyes 3 circuit lights. A simple thing to add a run light circuit to the front signals and put 1157 bases in them.
