The Black Pearl Posted February 3, 2010 #1 Posted February 3, 2010 What a woman!!! So my wife comes to me last night to let me know that since my birthday is this month I could order a few things for my scoot, after careful consideration we ordered the passing light bar and lights, visors for all of the lights front and back, and a extra large clearview windshield were also looking at the best ideas on a new horn. My old man toot toot as my wife calls it is fine for the good bye waves but really want a second "LOOK OUT" horn for the bike so I am looking for ideas on horns and mounting and wiring ideas and the more pics the better thanks for all the help and info guys
DragonRider Posted February 3, 2010 #2 Posted February 3, 2010 Stebel air horns.........sounds like a freight train when you hit that button, just make sure to let your co-pilot know when you hit it or she might jump straight up off the bike.........that sucka be loud. Bummer Posted February 3, 2010 #7 Posted February 3, 2010 I have a set of Rivco air horns that hang under the swing arms, and a pair of Fiamm extra loud electrics inside the fairing. They add up to a loud combination. I'm also looking at adding the Stebel 300hz truck horn just to make it interesting. One thing of note: We wear our headsets pretty much all the time. When the CB is on the horns feed back into the headsets. That's loud!
CMIKE Posted February 3, 2010 #8 Posted February 3, 2010 I like the revco hanging under the swing arm. I got those and it is a nice neat install.
The Black Pearl Posted February 4, 2010 Author #9 Posted February 4, 2010 Ok guys thanks for all the info but i guess my real question is this, i want to keep my stock horn, for the good bye waves lol etc but want the holy crap horn for cagers but am puzzled on the best form of a switch for the hc horn, i have seen a few switches with like handle bar mounts but havent found one i like any suggestions or pics would be helpful thanks:think:
autopilot Posted February 4, 2010 #10 Posted February 4, 2010 Anybody got a pic or two of the Rivco/swingarm install ?
LilBeaver Posted February 4, 2010 #11 Posted February 4, 2010 ...i want to keep my stock horn, for the good bye waves... I use my Stebel for the good bye wayes. Some of those waves also including reminding people that I think they are number 1... To address your question, someone on here (I looked a little and couldn't find it) actually rigged up two horn buttons (that looked decently stock) just for the purpose that you described. I believe it was on a first gen though and they used part of a switch housing off of a parts bike and installed it just below the current switch. Thinking about it, I think with the relay that one uses in the wiring of the bigger horn and a simple toggle switch, one could probably setup a system that would allow you to turn on and off the activation of the extra loud one with the flick of a switch. In fact, you've got me thinking here - I might sit down and try to come up with a few possibilities for that, just for kicks. Just a thought:

Maybe if asked nicely he will pipe up with his solution. Looked real good and worked like a charm. He kept his original horn and added a steble as well with a different button just above the original. Wayne
