Black Owl Posted February 2, 2010 #2 Posted February 2, 2010 Amazing.... 26,000 Km of roadway and he still didn't have enough room to get on the right side of the road...
Freebird Posted February 2, 2010 #3 Posted February 2, 2010 That has to be at the top of my "dream trip" list. Someday maybe.
Guest Ken8143 Posted February 3, 2010 #4 Posted February 3, 2010 Annie - get out the shrimp for the barbie - I am on my way!
loehring Posted February 3, 2010 #5 Posted February 3, 2010 That would be one awesome trip. I don't think the RSV would do well on the dirt and gravel though.
Aussie Annie Posted February 5, 2010 #6 Posted February 5, 2010 Hey Condor, sorry I missed this post!! Yep, big island with unbelievable riding roads. Just going from one side to the other "across the paddock" is an ad-Venture all by it's self. The Nullabor has a 90 mile stretch of straight road, where all you see is the horizon. Easy to get "white line fever"

Yammer Dan Posted February 5, 2010 #10 Posted February 5, 2010 I went to the U S Virgin Islands to rebuild after Hugo. First thing I did was get in big old Line Truck and head down RIGHT side of 6 lane road in the middle of town. WRONG!!! Never saw such a mess!!
Grandpagak Posted February 5, 2010 #11 Posted February 5, 2010 man, i think that i would be crappin my undies meetin a vehicle on the wrong side of the road like that..specially a big truck like that.. at least till one gets used to it bein backwards..( creature of habit, i guess.... Thanx for the post..no offense ment, to u Annie.. just seems backwards...
PBJ Posted February 5, 2010 #12 Posted February 5, 2010 Wow Annie you don't know how much a lot of Us would love to come down and visit. the problem is its hard to keep the bikes afloat over so much water?LOL! Whats it cost to rent a bike down there?
Aussie Annie Posted February 7, 2010 #13 Posted February 7, 2010 Oh funny Ha-Ha There's a winter project.....amphibious motorcycle?? Don't know about rental? When aussies travel to U.S.A. they usually make it for three months and ship their own bikes over. That's what we would do, especially now I can't ride any other bike. A company here called "Get Routed" does all the paperwork, insurance, customs and shipping. And will even organise U.S. insurance for your bike. They ship to Oregan, and if weather good it takes six weeks. Usually goes in May.

Aussie Annie Posted February 8, 2010 #15 Posted February 8, 2010 Thanks Condor, I should have done that The guy "calls a spade a spade" on his web site, especially in response to some former clients, or dumb questions.
Squidley Posted February 8, 2010 #16 Posted February 8, 2010 That has to be at the top of my "dream trip" list. Someday maybe. My sentiments exactly, I have wanted to go to Austrailia since I was 7 or 8 years old. It's my #1 spot to visit before I leave this planet. I hope that someday Lonna and I can make that happen.
Aussie Annie Posted February 9, 2010 #17 Posted February 9, 2010 Hope you get to cross it off your "bucket list" got some great riding roads:clap2: bit boring going from one side of the island to the other though.....not much in the middle!!!
spear Posted February 9, 2010 #18 Posted February 9, 2010 Stupid me! I'm looking for the camper trailer. Then I realise it's a film trailer. D'oh! So Annie. When you head to the AGM in Newie - ya riding across the paddock or catchin' the Red Eye Special?
Aussie Annie Posted February 10, 2010 #19 Posted February 10, 2010 I think it will have to be the red eye for Newie. Will need a bit of time for the leg to be strong enough for the ride across. Would hope to ride to Mildura (AGM after Newie) And enjoy your ride with your brother's and sister
