1988 Venture Side Stand

I have a 1988 Venture that was lowered, Good for us Short Guys, but bad on bike lean. Does anyon have a shorten side stand they are willing trade or sell, if not need to find local welder.

Not many guys have attempted to shorten the G1 Ventures. What did you do, and how did it affect handling etc? and how much did you gain on the seat height?

 

I have heard of a couple of guys taking the stand to a fabricators and have them cut an inch off (sounds so wrong...) ....and reweld

The bike seem to have been lowered by the PO, side stand makes the bike sit to upright very easily tipped to the right, and all most impossible to place on center stand, had to use ramp on rear tire, otherwise runs true and performs great.

If it would help you out any, I have an extra stand from an 88 that I don't need.

 

You could get it to a welder, while keeping your bike running.

I don't have a problem with the side stand, but I did take 1/2 inch out of my center stand and it makes it alot easier to get it up on it.
