Gamecock Posted January 31, 2010 #1 Posted January 31, 2010 (edited) I bought the Wii Fit Plus last weekend and started it Monday. Been religious with it all week and it's paid off......6 lbs in 6 days. I have also walked on the treadmill while doing the game. The Fit really does make working out interesting. Now if I can just get to 225 by August for my 10 year high school reunion I will be alright. I'll keep ya'll updated Oh, I started at 287 (not ashamed, but not proud either) Ben Edited February 7, 2010 by Gamecock
Bigfoot Posted January 31, 2010 #2 Posted January 31, 2010 We gave that to our daughter and son in law and they like it. Of course he's a Marine and stays in great shape anyways but they still like the Wii. Good luck with the weight for the 10 year reunion. 10 year reunion? Holy crap you are a kid.

Come on now, I'm not that young! There is a 16 year old patroling these boards, now that makes me feel OLD! I haven't watched the weight since I got out of the CG; well I watched it go up up up. I guess it's time to do something about it. Just hope I stick to this. 6 lbs in one week is very motivating! Ben

TopV Posted January 31, 2010 #6 Posted January 31, 2010 Tried the game at a friends house and it was fun. Tried to buy one but most stores are sold out and waiting till after invantory to restock. As for the weight any movment will help, but as for myself i use Weight Watchers. I go to my meetings each week and have managed to go from 272lbs in june 09 to 196.5 with a goal weight of 185. Bigest problem iam having is that all the people that use to tell me iam to fat say iam to skinny. ( i wonder if that is because i am now thinner that them?). Either way keep it up and you will make it. Joe Besides its cheper to buy size 36 jeans than 48
Riderduke Posted January 31, 2010 #7 Posted January 31, 2010 10 year reunion? Holy crap you are a kid. DITTO!

RandyR Posted February 9, 2010 #22 Posted February 9, 2010 I'm real close to buying an elliptical exerciser. Am looking at one of the Schwinn 420 models. I want something to work my cardiovascular system everyday and I have to exercise my rt arm and shoulder where it got crunched a couple years ago. It appears to be a good whole body exerciser, what do those think that have one?
Freebird Posted February 9, 2010 #23 Posted February 9, 2010 I've got one but it's a different brand. I can't say a lot about it because I've obviously not used it much. Years ago, I exercised a lot but didn't have it at that time. During those days, I used a rowing machine and it was really a good workout.
Gamecock Posted February 9, 2010 Author #24 Posted February 9, 2010 When I was in the Coast Guard the elliptical was my main workout. I would use it 1 hour a day and normally get around 7.2 miles in. While at sea, I would normally loose about 25 lbs in a month. I wanted one for home, but the boss lady wanted a treadmill, and guess who won? I should have stood up to her, I use it more than she does. Great workout, and awesome results if you use it everyday! Ben
RandyR Posted February 9, 2010 #25 Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) I actually tried the wii fit yesterday besides looking at several ellipticals at nearby stores and online. The wii seems like it would be very good for balance and coordination in addition to muscle tone. That said, I think the elliptical is what I want first, but would take a wii if someone gave me one or might eventually get one. I just went ahead and bought a new Schwinn 420 elliptical exerciser. Otherwise I'll procrastinate forever. I'm going to set it up here in my living room, where it will remind me everyday to use it. Edited February 9, 2010 by RandyR
