rod Posted January 29, 2010 #1 Posted January 29, 2010 I met Gary N. for a ride up the coast yesterday. The weather was good am traffic not too bad for the area. A stop at Mt. Solodad provided a good view of the coast and general area. Stopped for lunch and had a good panni sandwich at a coffee shop I knew of in Carlsbad. Up to San Onofre campground and pound down hwy 5 home. Thanks for a great day Gary. Rod
Gary N. Posted January 29, 2010 #2 Posted January 29, 2010 Thank you Rod and buddy Phil for a great day. The weather was perfect, the country side was beautiful and the traffic was.....not what I'm used too.
Dano Posted January 29, 2010 #3 Posted January 29, 2010 Gary, you keep on living that dream for us, one day we will walk in your shoes. Enjoy it while you can in that Space Shuttle of yours. You DO plan on being back east by MD, don't you?! Dan

So you're doing the reverse of the route that Mother and OMG did last year then? Did you go out Rt 66 to California? Man I want to do that someday. You are one lucky guy, along with your compadre, getting to see all these sights. Have fun and keep the pics coming. Dan

We'll be coming home from here via Texas by the end of March. Then we'll be heading back west in June. We did however travel a little bit of Route 66. About 1 1/2 miles or so to a dead end with no place to turn around. This was near Albuquerque NM. Remember I'm driving a 40' RV with the bike trailer in tow. Ask Mary how she likes walking behind the Shuttle for 1 1/2 miles, pitch black, 28*, giving me directions on the walkie talkie. It's a long story.
rod Posted January 29, 2010 Author #11 Posted January 29, 2010 Having met Her I would say you were lucky it was her and not some one else, she is a keeper. Rod

Oh I bet she was impressed. Your gonna have to find some more of those Brownie points as I bet you lost the ones you picked up in Vegas. I hope you did not have to back up a mile and half. Brad
